@jonsnow

May I bring you attention to these? I came across articles that rumors about Windows 12 releasing this year are exaggerated and false.

@NovemDecimal Interesting. So far we had romoured claims, rumoured disclaimers and nothing official from Microslop.

The release date is the least of the concerns and the rest just sounds like something Microslop would (and still might) do.

The 2nd article is from 2023 and only says that Windows "will not need subscription to *use* it". Nothing about "subscriptions for extra features" 🙂

Let's wait and see. Makes really no difference to me as I made a vow to never install Windows again 🐧

I'm also Team Penguin 🐧

as your post gained many shares, and most people unfortunately don't read the whole thread, I think it would be reaoonsible of you to edit your post with a disclaimer that the article you shared is likely false, as the original article acknowledged

simply in order to not spread fake news.

@NovemDecimal

We messed up with the Windows 12 article. What we got wrong and how it happened

We published a Windows 12 article that did not meet PCWorld's editorial standards. We're sorry. Here's how we'll get better.

PCWorld
@yaarur @NovemDecimal the article I shared already includes a disclaimer. Though I am willing to bet it will turn out that the only incorrect information was Winslop 12 *release date*.

@jonsnow
Well I don't know when that disclaimer was added, but I bet most people who shared your post won't revisit the article to see it, while if you edit your post they will be notified about it.

Anyway, that's your choice, even if I'd have chosen otherwise.
