@misty This is possibly the sweetest thing I've ever read!
Thanks for the breath of fresh air.
@misty an island of wholesomeness, much appreciated in these trying times.
I'd follow you twice if I could!
@misty I could practically hear the Summoning Salt vaporwave music while reading this (I love this article every time it comes by)
Sadly she no longer has the record, which now sits at 915 lines. https://www.twingalaxies.com/records/voting-performances/250260-game-boy-game-boy-color-tetris-dx-marathon-mode-lines-915
@misty That's a fantastic story. The end is hilarious.
"""As I go to pack the car, I realize that Lori has bought some things on the trip, and fitting them into our Jeep Cherokee is getting tricky. Then I look over at Lori, and it all makes sense. "From now on," I tell the new master of fitting shapes into tight spaces, "you pack the car.""""
Smart man! Know when your partner is clearly better!
@misty That is so cool!
And I'm so glad they kept this archive and that it's not walled off for GDPR reasons and other nonsense like that.
Absolutely loved this - thanks
@misty I read that whole article. Not a single ad. omg.
Kids, this is what the internet USED to be like.
@misty One low key excellent part of this is talk of andrewg's Super Mario Bros. 1 5m9s run being beaten by Scott Kessler by a second in a "perfect run" as we are now actually 9 frames from perfection in Super Mario Bros 1, with average11's current 4m54.415s world record.
Andrewg himself would eventually set a world record with a 4m58.092s.
The best Defender player I ever saw was a kid about seven years old who could play the game indefinitely on one 20c piece.
He stood on a beer crate to see the screen and reach the buttons.
