Colorado mountain person. I make things and go to conventions. Generally I'll post content related to my hobbies, which include #car restoration, #outdoor experiences, #furry events, #games (tabletop and PC games, sometimes older consoles), #Linux, #computers, and fixing stuff in general.

I am online to be silly. I'm usually silly.

Okay folks, still working on clearing out space in my house and I have not one but TWO computers for sale! One laptop, one desktop.

Both machines work well, and I have additional photos available on request. Feel free to reach out with any questions or if you want more info!

This is a thread, read on:

More pictures of the desktop (and some FurMark 2 benchmarks):

THE DESKTOP: Mostly ASUS ROG hardware, this was my old gaming rig. Power supply failed last year, so I built a new machine. Was going to part this one out, but instead decided to build it back up and sell as a complete working PC. Comes with a fresh install of Win10 LTSC with all drivers and debloat. Specs:

ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard
Intel i7 5930K - 3.5GHz, 6 core 12 thread
G.Skill 32GB DD4-2800 RAM (4x 8GB sticks)
ASUS ROG STRIX NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super, 8GB VRAM
1TB NVMe KingSpec drive (new)
BeQuiet Dark Rock Slim CPU cooler (new)
Corsair RM850e - 850W PSU (new)
Nollie 8 ARGB controller (new, for controlling case fans, GPU, and front panel LEDs)
AZZA CELESTA 340F case (new)

Has over $300 in new parts. I'm looking for $600 for this one, plus actual shipping costs (local pickup would be preferred if you're in Colorado; shipping will probably be around $60-80). Computer and WiFi antenna only; no keyboard/mouse/display/etc.

More photos of the Gazelle 14:

THE LAPTOP: System76 Gazelle 14. The original manual archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20241223212207/https://support.system76.com/service-manuals/pdfs/Gazelle/gaze14-service-manual.pdf

Used this laptop as my primary/secondary machine, and it's been excellent. One of the last "bulky" laptops where you can actually get inside with normal hand tools and service things. There's a 1TB NVMe drive included, a second NVMe slot, and a 2.5" bay as well. Comes with 16GB of RAM, an Intel i7-9750H (6C12T 2.6GHz), GTX 1650, 1920x1080 display. I recently replaced the thermal paste so that should be good for another 5+ years. Cosmetically it's in great condition. Battery is in good shape, about 88% capacity, although you should have reasonable expectations about battery life (I get about 45-70 minutes on battery, depending on load). Full range of ports, including HDMI, DP, and an actual Ethernet port! Charger included.

Looking for $350, shipped in the continental USA. Screenshot shows CachyOS installed, but comes with NO OS (works fine with CachyOS, Mint, etc).

oh also uhh. may as well post on fedi because that sounds much easier than ebay/craigslist/will feel better in general doing this if someone who's actually cool gets it.

if anyone is interested in buying some of the old shit i have that i am trying to downsize away from please do message me. will ship internationally for whatever USPS charges, prices are open to negotiation and include US shipping.

i have:

* a quest 3s 128gb (very lightly used, have the box, missing original charger but everything else is there) (~$175)
* gigabyte b365m ds3h wifi board and intel i5 9400f from a prebuilt. missing the rear IO shield. (~$70)
* a kinda crappy 14in asus arm chromebook (CM1402CM2, works fine, only the laptop) with a scuff on the case. (~$50 or so)
* my desktop (ryzen 5 4600g, 16gb ddr4 3200, gtx 1650 super, basic b550 msi mATX board, NH-D15s, fractal focus 2, shitty 256gb sata ssd) (~$450-550 or so)
* a thrustmaster TMX FFB wheel and pedal set that's kinda notably used. idfk what to price this at and shipping seems like a bitch.
* broken rift S headset and controllers (DP cable issue i think? no facial interface, just give me shipping) someone has contacted me about said rift S already

ok i figure i should ask fedi for help here

anyone in the UK want a sony KV-E2942U trinitron crt and is willing to collect it from southampton? it doesnt turn on and displays a blink code, but there isnt anything visibly wrong inside at first glance, so im pretty sure its fixable by someone with more time than me

its got its original stand and the speakers that slot on the sides and top. not sure we have the remote but i think we have a spare sony remote that might work with it

i have to get rid of it by mid-june else it goes in the tip so im really hoping someone will save it lol

edit: updated the model number to be the right language sorryy

POV, it's actually quite comfortable to hold!

I should note I didn't come up with this idea; I saw something similar and decided to take a shot at building my own. I already had the camera though, because I have lots of weird stuff on hand.

Nobody had any guesses as to what that weird bracket was for, so I'm going to show you.

It's a miniature portable video recorder! I'm using an old Ikegami security camera and a PowerPlay DVR (intended for drone usage). The PowerPlay runs on rechargable 18500 batteries and has a 12Vdc output to power the camera. Have parts on the way to build a BNC to 3.5mm cable for video. Best part is the PowerPlay has a small LCD screen, so I even get a viewfinder.

I'd like to find a solution for audio, but I'm going to get video working first. If I do get a mic I'll print another bracket and mount it under the camera. Two 3D printed pieces and everything is held together with aluminum bolts; two through to the camera body, and one hidden inside the pistol grip.

I dunno, it's weird but I think it'll look neat when it's done! Sort of punky, I guess? Don't really care about the video quality, if it works (no autofocus either, so it's going to be a learning experience).
