Neville Chamberlain has been ridiculed since 1938 for coming back to the UK and waving his peace agreement with Hitler, as if anyone has ever been able to get a trustworthy deal with a psychopathic killer.

But Chamberlain made the mistake of trusting Hitler only once. Trump has made that mistake throughout 2025.

It has been 319 days since Trump would end the Ukraine war in 24 hours. And Trump still thinks there is a deal to be made with the psychopathic killer in the Kremlin.

@randahl I just wonder if master trumpito is so daft or his master putin has something on him .... maybe both?

@randahl

Neville Chamberlain was a former Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1931 to 1937, then Prime Minister 1937 to 1940. He was very influential in the banking world.

During that period the banks of England, Sweden and Switzerland laundered millions in stolen Nazi gold from Hitler's looting.

Chamberlain undoubtedly had knowledge of this theft.

Did the Munich Agreement include back room deals that allowed the laundering of Hitler's gold?

According to Andrew Lownes an amazing amount ...

Trump's deal making via Kirill Dmitriev, Kushner, and Putin certainly has its similarities.

@randahl

Donald Trump does not seem to trust Putin as much as he seems to obey Putin. It is right for you to be focusing on their relationship. It is mind boggling that an American President would roll out a red carpet for a dictator sending rockets and drones at civilains in Kyiv. Can you imagine President Roosevelt warmly greeting Hitler after he rained down rockets & drones on London? The American administration has fallen. Yet we can still donate to help Ukraine's defense. #Ukraine

@JeffreySmith take a look at Gaza - same same stupidity as what is occurring here... They are a diplomatic waste of air! That is the kindest way to express it!
@randahl It's kind of depressing that a large part of what has saved Ukraine so far is the stupidity of her opponents.
The other parts are foresight and the ferocity with which they defend their homeland.

@randahl

I can't see any signs that makes me believe Trump cares about Ukraine or Europe.

Only about enriching himself

@randahl

Trump's behaviour is bizarre, unless we accept that Putin has something on him.

@Nigel_Purchase @randahl I am willing to accept that.

Though I don't think it's the only possible explanation.

Maybe the explanation is that The Rapist is also a psychopathic killer and so feels naturally drawn to take the side of another psychopathic killer.

@Nigel_Purchase @randahl Either way, I think accusing The Rapist of appeasement is wide of the mark.

Appeasement suggests that he hopes his actions will keep Putin in check.

It seems to me far more likely that he actively wants Putin to succeed.

@statsguy @Nigel_Purchase @randahl I agree that Trump loves dictators, because he aspires to be one. In his mind, the complex geostrategic concerns behind international diplomacy - which he doesn't understand anyway! - are secondary to a worldview in which everyone is expendable other than brutal, autocratic leaders, who should all just collaborate and form a cosy club to exploit everyone else. Hence, he thinks the likes of Putin and Kim Jong Un can be his pals.

I really think he's that stupid.

@randahl are you kidding me? You could have had peace had our dear leaders not undrmined every single negociation, starting with Istambul. If u want to go to war go ypurself, dont send me, or the ukranians, into it

@randahl

It's okay, to make mistakes. It's not okay, not to learn from them. It's best, to learn from own and other's mistakes.
