rand ❌👑@ascentale @bikenite A3. The cones in both wheels of my old bike. I just need to pull the wheels off so I find out what replacements I need, but I keep putting it off. I mean the bike does work, so what’s the problem with a few pits. lol #BikeNite
Bob Downie@rand @ascentale @bikenite Good luck with finding the right cones. If the hub is a common branded one (eg Shimano) you are in with a shout but otherwise they can be hard to source. Weirdly, sometimes it's almost as cheap to buy a complete replacement hub & take the cones from it. That gives you replacement bearings & freehub too! But as you say, what's the big deal about pitting? It will ride. #bikenite
@geomannie @ascentale @bikenite The follow on project is to replace the wheels, but… stick with 26” rims? Switch drive train to be compatible with my collection of 11 speed chains from my other bike? Build them myself? So many questions that lead to more questions! #BikeNite
