Also, I watched the extended version this time and it just reaffirmed my long-standing belief that the standard editions are better movies, and the extended versions are just “more LOTR” and that all some people want, which is fine. For me, it shows how impactful editing is on the final product, and how amazing a job they did for the theatrical cuts.

@matt_birchler OK, but do you remember, or care about, the plot?

@jasonclarke Of course! The "doesn't rise to the heights of the last one" was because the story in the last one was really impactful for me.

Honestly I'm not sure why this franchise in particular gets this specific criticism. I have seen sooooo many more forgettable stories.

@matt_birchler My brother raved about this one - need to find the time to watch it soon
@matt_birchler Insanely great movie…
@hiro more like One Great Scene After Another, am I right? 😛
@matt_birchler I thought it was decent, but I was rating it with the "video game movie" curve added. As a movie it isn't great. Fountain of Youth on Apple TV is the better "Uncharted movie" IMO.
@matt_birchler oh man I actually really enjoyed this one!
@matt_birchler Yeah. Too bad they didn't make any Star Wars episodes after this one.
@natejung ha, well I’m happy they made one more…
@matt_birchler That was just a visual and auditory treat. More of a demonstration of what could have been considered an additional episode. That's why they had to release a 2 hour and 22 minute video explaining that in 2019.
@matt_birchler This is one film where there should be an automatic filter that stops any other options that Loved It! from appearing.
@leegarrett Honestly kinda want to implement something like this 😂
@matt_birchler I just watched this too and thought it was fantastic. So well done.
@matt_birchler I enjoyed very much too, but puzzled by why they chose three British lead actors, imitating American accents. They all did very well I have to say, especially Josh O’Conner, but why not use American actors ? Is it only me that thinks Daniel Craig watched too much Foghorn Leghorn as a kid ?
@matt_birchler Michael Feifer sounds like the knock-off boy version of Michelle Pfeiffer
@matt_birchler thanks for confirming It’s a Christmas movie 😅
@imthaz A few years ago I thought that was crazy, but yeah, it totally is!
Die Hard is a Christmas Movie

Every year, I receive messages and see numerous posts debating whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Every year, I respond with the same messages and the strong conviction that it is indeed so.

@matt_birchler I really expected to see John David Washington in a lot more roles after this, but it never really happened

@brzz yeah, it looks like he does a movie a year and they just aren't all hits.

Also I feel really slow on this, I was today years old when I learned he was Denzel's son.

@matt_birchler Reminds me that I need to watch The Creator at some point.

Haha, yeah. I think I've known since he was getting buzz for BlacKkKlansman. Remember an interview where Denzel mentioned it.

@matt_birchler Re-watched in IMAX and the soundtrack is a big part of that you have to feel it sentiment. It adds enormously to the experience
@ravi Oh yeah, the soundtrack is just outstanding ❤️
@matt_birchler Yeah. It’s a fun movie. I think some people rob their fun of this by taking it too seriously. Just enjoy the silly fun!
