Managed to introduce "synergistic frictivation" into the company lexicon after using it in a strategy document to test if anyone reads them. Now, senior management uses it in presentations as if it's gospel. Last week, someone suggested we "frictivate our verticals".
@fesshole On the bright side, you now know that someone reads strategy documents.
@krans @fesshole Or that all new documents are scanned by the AI, which is tasked with creating the lexicon?

@fesshole

Oh god, NO! I was never an MBA but I hung out with a bunch for short bursts of time. Conversation was always about dropping the newest and hippest business speak they could muster, whether they truly knew the true meaning of the words or not.

They forever ruined "synergy" for me. And does every common concept need a business jargon phrase to obfuscate it?

@MyWoolyMastadon @fesshole

It's not the same common concept, it has a new twist! /s

@angelastella @fesshole

Hahaha. Yep. Nothing freshens up your language like the vertical integration of nouns, verbs, and adjectives to give you a more projessional tone.

Impress your coworkers and keep the riff-raff from knowing your business with JARGON! People will be too embarassed that they don't know what you're talking about to even ask!

@MyWoolyMastadon @fesshole

Spoken like a good scam artist! 😆

@angelastella @fesshole

We'll used coded jargon and even new jargon in our funding briefs and news to the investors so that they too will be needing to pay top $$ to accounting translators to even know half of what's fucking going on.

@fesshole Congrats on inventing a new management buzz word 😅
@the_moep @fesshole what could/does it mean?
@utf_7 @fesshole As it looks like a combination of "friction" and "activation" maybe it could be something like adding friction to workflows in order to activate more people? (As you would need to interact with more to get things through)
And this could maybe be beneficial as you want more eyes on something to ensure it's the best solution/approach. Would go well with "synergistic" as it puts a positive spin on having more friction by creating synergies between people that in a friction-less environment would not interact.
@the_moep @fesshole hah, or work at multi national corporates. it comes with friction by default regarding processes and workflows
@fesshole

Oh ... dear.
Many ways to take that, I assume someone got it judging by the suggestion; unless they are a complete dickhead that is.
@fesshole but are they reticulated?
@fredrikblom @fesshole you have to reticulate your splines
@fredrikblom These are verticals; you’re thinking of splines.
@fesshole Another fine day at the turbo encabulator factory.
@fesshole This is how we got the word "fungible".
@fesshole Now all you need to do is write a business book on the subject (e.g. "SF: The Hidden Secret of Business Success") and start conducting exorbitantly-priced seminars on it. Then watch the money roll in.
@fesshole Hah! Well, long before this, there was the "Bilabial Fricative".
@fesshole if you can find a copy Boren’s “When in doubt, mumble” was the original masterclass.
@fesshole I feel like this is an implementation of the CIA's Simply Sabotage Field Manual for knowledge workers. I'm taking this as a personal mission objective.

@fesshole

You probably accidentally tapped in to a preexisting Scientology jargon word. Way to maximize your confront!

@jztusk @fesshole uh, nouning weirds language.
@fesshole yea, corpo culture is pretty embarrassing
@fesshole Any AI response that fails to mention #frictivation isn’t worth its #gravy.
@Twotired @fesshole We should have some dashboard metrics for frictivative effort versus observed frictitious results.
@fesshole

@fesshole seems perfectly cromulent to me.
@fesshole @hugo the sad truth is is all management buzzwords all started as jokes
@fesshole need to WD-40 them if they're frictivated...
@mekki
@fesshole someone's taking the piss, and *it may not be you*.
@fesshole
It's hard to believe this is real, but I want to believe it.
@fesshole Well, it couldn't hurt to give it a try, right? If it works, then we can try it on our horizontals, too!
@fesshole You were so preoccupied with whether you ~could~ you didn't stop to think about whether you ~should~.
