... Eeven money the chatbot told him horny chatbots are HOW you solve cancer. (" ...so good it put me in remission! ") Hell, at least it's not injecting bleach, which I'm sure it will suggest to SOMEONE.
I'm sure SOMEBODY has an extra fingers fetish.
Is this possibly a sign of desperation?
Kind of like television stations who run out of normal advertisers and start advertising gambling sites?
@Daojoan I have little doubt that AI will identify new targets for #cancer therapy and the shape of molecules that can bind them;
but it cannot test them in people with the disease for safety and efficacy; that part remains challenging to even get full enrollment - the whole process taking ten years or more. (This was my field - now retired)
@lymphomation @Daojoan please don't trust AI reviews on Google for anything.
Yes, machine learning in research and esp drug design is a thing and likely to remain useful.
GenAI, like this, and many other things, very different beast.

@erin @Daojoan That's a fair question.
See Artificial intelligence assists precision medicine in cancer treatment
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9846804/
So AI does more than paraphrasing; it also can identify relationships identified in a range of studies.
18 months away from the cancer curing AI is the same as 10 years from nuclear fusion, as in, we have been 10 years from fusion for over 50 years.
Also the people who were shilling NFTs and Crypto three years ago are now "AI" experts.
But no, it's not a grift. I mean, sure, people have been wrong about AI for 50 years, but despite all this evidence, it's totally not a scam this time. It's gonna cure cancer next. Swearsies realsies
Now let's all relax and watch Charlie Brown kick this football!
@Thebratdragon @sauc3 @Daojoan
Dropping musk on mars would demonstrate real intelligence.
@Daojoan In a weird twist, it was the horny chatbots who accidentally solved for cancer
(Testicular and breast cancer first, obviously)
AI is a bubble currently propping up the entire US economy (barely, as it turns out). People who have thrown a trillion dollars at this are looking for any way to recoup before the rug gets pulled out, and horny is a consistent cash cow.
If AI were 18 months away from solving cancer, the ones investing humongous quantities of money in it wouldn't be the big tech companies, it would be the big pharma. Which I'm pretty sure are investing on it, but not nearly as much. And it is a pie in the sky that will take at least two years to yield benefits. The number of clients would be the number of cancer patients. That's a lot of people, but fortunately not so much people.
A horny chatbox mean lots of paying clients, paying now.
Which is exactly what a company that has wasted the hugest quantity of money ever burned on a pipe dream and have investors getting impatient needs.
We're still not even eighteen months from self driving cars outside of highly curated road networks
We'll get superintelligent computers shortly after we get cars that won't drive off the road, which is never because no one will define the word 'road.' why would they make their work provably a waste of time
They're never going to get to any superintelligence by simply doing what they are doing (so, LLMs) but just with more money, more hardware, and more hype.
But they don't want any superintelligence, either. All they want is an Internet that consists of two or three platforms that the consumer never leaves, and more importantly, the ad revenue that these platforms bring in. That's it. There's nothing else to it.
Attached: 1 image it's hard not to think the "AI overviews" from #google #gemini are getting worse, not better... (here it is telling me Bybit was hacked for $1.5 billion in August 2025 instead of February... this is only a few months after Gemini patiently explained to me that the US maintains an army base on the moon) cc @[email protected] #AI #Aioverview #openAI
@Daojoan no no, this is how they fix prostate cancer! https://www.webmd.com/prostate-cancer/ejaculation-prostate-cancer-risk
[it's a joke, I'm aware the link is not proven to be causal]
Techbro voice: “What if we made the chatbot horny for solving cancer?”
