GOOD NEWS: For the first time in history, RENEWABLE ENERGY has overtaken COAL in global electricity production.
Solar and wind are finally outpacing fossil fuels. This is a TURNING POINT for the planet and for all of us.

@greenpeace and GHG emissions are still increasing, and "renewables" are not renewable, they are just greenwashing: https://gerrymcgovern.com/new-thinking/

@greenpeace meanwhileโฆ
Oil production goes up, emissions go up, the usable area of the Earth that could have been occupied by plants, the ONLY mechanism that binds COโ, is taken up by dead silicon panels
Itโs not fuckin good news at all
Trump: "Hold my Big Mac."
@greenpeace renewables are a step in the right direction. But can we be more honest?
Virtually every solar panel and wind turbine has been made *with* coal, and will be for some time.
We have to start somewhere but if we continue to never talk about and confront demand management weโll continue going nowhere or, at best, somewhere less bad not remotely fast enough
This is what irks me about people celebrating China as some great environmental hero simply because they see the economic opportunity in solar/wind.
Their annual emissions are still a verticle line outpacing even the US, and the reason companies go to China is because of the lax environmental regulations compared to their own countries.
So instead of doing the responsible thing and prioritizing cleaner manufacturing, they choose their geopolitical ambitions.
See those panels, start lifting them up and put stuff under the roof solar!
All solar panels are roof solar.
Put something under them!
A farm, for lambs and goats, shade loving ginseng, chard or a hospital.
High shade solar along the edges of the desert, to reverse desert growth, and pump energy into the battery grid.
