@w7voa I can see so many "artistic" opportunities - if this "coin" goes into circulation I would expect a lot of "interesting" overstrike dies to circulate that would do "interesting" modifications.

For instance, one might draw from Michelangelo's Moses and create a die that put horns on the two heads.

And I can think of some phallic modifications that would pass as "rude".

And besides, see 31 U.S. Code § 5114(b):

... Only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities. The name of the individual shall be inscribed below the portrait.

Now, that suggests that either El Cheeto plans to die soon or that he is planning on ignoring yet another rather clear Federal law.

I did a quick search of the US code and couldn't find anything that specifically distinguished coins from currency. Might you have a citation? Thanks.

By-the-way, I did come across 31 U.S. Code § 5114 which says that the presidential series of dollar coins must bear a "(i) a likeness of the Statue of Liberty' - the proposed coin fails that requirement. (The coin also seems to fail the requirements for the other side, particularly the dates.)

And here's the kicker:

"(E) Limitation in series to deceased presidents.—
No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President during the 2-year period following the date of the death of that President.'

The way that law is written, El Cheeto could have *two* such coin designs, one for each non-sequential term.

And Melanoma can get a "bullion" coin as well. Sheesh. Will her image be naked?

I suspect he'll get around the law by making it not-really-a-real-coin. More of a token or souvenir. That he will somehow profit from.

And anyone who tries to sue to enforce the law would probably be ruled to lack standing by SCOTUS.
