How old money works:

1. OpenAI signs $300B GPU deal with Oracle and they don’t have that kind of money
2. Larry gains $100B (no GPUs shipped) from stock gains
3. Larry invests in OpenAI’s $1T round
4. Sam uses $300B to pay Oracle
5. Oracle stock pumps again on the news of OoenAI deal. Investors rushed and stock prices went up
6. Larry makes another $100B
7. Larry invests in OpenAI

Me: there is absolutely no bubble around 🤣

@nixCraft THANKS.

This is a MUCH simpler way to explain the LLM bubble than what I - with too many years of grad school level Economy - was trying to present to people whose notional vocabularies stop at latest Autotune Taytay song title.

Legit.

@nixCraft
nooo bubble. we can't see it.. #ohwait `w;7[)
@nixCraft It's not a bubble, it's a ponzi bubble.
@nixCraft I cashed out my tech ETF at the January highs…. It’s only just now come back to the same level I sold at, so I missed the opportunity to make another 20%…. When the bubble pops I’m expecting a bloodbath of 50% or more — the AI BS is so pervasive I suspect it will be similar to 2008.

@JustinDerrick @nixCraft exactly. All hype for a poorly functioning tool

It will be terrible

@nixCraft interesting info. Thanks.
@nixCraft, the same thing happened in the dot com bubble. Everyone was placing orders on each other until no one had any investor money's to waste.

@nixCraft

Anyone into #finance explain how this isn't just a more complex form of a #pyramidscheme?

@nixCraft Reminds me of how Westinghouse got wrecked and went nearly bankrupt in the 1990s due to bad Florida commercial real estate deals. Maybe these companies actually will go bankrupt

@nixCraft

How much would you invest in all future profits, forever?

@nixCraft It's a ponzi scheme just like what happened with crypto and before the dotcom crash.

@nixCraft

Such pretty Tulips.

You can buy them anywhere if you are rich.

@nixCraft And when the bubble deflates. The government will just print money and give it to this companies to save them
