Tl;dr On June 14, 2025, Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed in their home. The attacker, Vance Boelter, targeted multiple Democratic officials, also shooting Senator John Hoffman and his wife. Boelter had a hit list of 45 Democrats, posed as a police officer, and was arrested two days later on multiple charges.

Can we *all* pretty please have some acceptance of the fact is isnever a celebratory occassion when a human life is stolen, and any possibilty of that human bean getting and doing better is snuffed for always. Yes, perhaps, sometimes there is relief at that cessation of possibilty from a human bean being no longer the world's problem. There should never, ever (yes I'm using absolutes) be celebration.
