@mastodonmigration to me, this doesn’t sound like a revelation; it just confirms what I had already observed to be true since at least George W. Bush’s reign of terror.
Judging by her impotent record/past experience with her & Robert Reich talking a big talk but effectively doing nothing, the only reason neolib elite Warren is up-in-arms about it is that her cadre of criminals haven’t gotten their customary cut of the profits.
"While corruption is neither exceptional nor unheard of in the U.S., Trumpism has ushered in an era of corruption and consolidation as governance. The rules, practices, and processes that have ordered our lives are being collapsed into an ongoing heist, as billionaires and corporations dismantle systems that benefit the public, supercharge systems of surveillance and control, and extract as much wealth and as many resources as they can in the process. Henry Giroux recently described this phenomenon as “the systemic fusion of authoritarian power, organized greed, spectacle, state-sponsored cruelty, and impunity, a fusion that transforms corruption into a governing principle and a cultural ideal.”"

💯 but it's really hard to imagine #Carney doing so. He's as corporate as they come.
– an emphasis on discipline, manliness and militarism – linked to authoritarianism and often involving the use of paramilitary forces ( #PeteHegseth's #PulpFiction speech, his #antisecularism/ #theocracy, connections to #Manosphere ideology/ #WarriorEthos, #ICE)
– #irredentism (Canada)/ #imperialism (Venezula, #Iran)
– #Corporatism ( #ElonMusk, #Palantir, #AI companies, etc.)

Liberal, Tory
Same old story
Both parties are corrupt corporatists trying to convince us proles that what's good for global corporations is what's best for everyone - in fact, they say, there's no alternative.

Unbelievably corrupt. The US will never be the same.
