Meta AI, the honest spokesperson for #WhatsApp 🤣
@aboutsignal 😂😂😂😂😂😂👌♥️
@aboutsignal Just real question: witch side is the hallucination ?

@aboutsignal

Their app sucks but their AI seems great! lol

(pretty sure they will shut that down straight away though!)

@aboutsignal man sollte den Test von Zeit zu Zeit wiederholen, um zu sehen, wie lange man Meta noch trauen kann
@ADFC_Rgn ??? meta sollte man die ganze Zeit schon nicht trauen...

@aboutsignal I’m also quite sure #Meta #AI is now reading along with everything you type in the #WhatsApp search bar.

I’d have to build a setup to capture traffic to be sure, but maybe someone already has who can confirm or refute?

@aboutsignal #MetaAI knows #WhatsApp (pun intended)
@Benthekillerrat @temptoetiam @aboutsignal
And since one year, Meta use all of data from all apps for training IA. And, Meta try to use data from 2007 for all apps they own.
All data are used for training: chat text, pics, video. Everything was shared.
It's not a surprise, they announced it.
I think Meta use erased data too, because those GAFAMs don't trend to really erase data.
When you erase something, they only erase the link.
You can hope sometimes they loose data, that happens sometimes.
@aboutsignal
Das ist lustig.
Thats funny.
😃
@aboutsignal But even Signal is compromised by ai in the Apple 16 phone, I believe. Because the ai reads all your keystrokes and can report it to Apple before it enters Signal's encryption. Is this correct?
No, this isn't correct, there's no evidence for it being sent anywhere as of right now. The only thing that doesn't run locally to my knowledge is new Siri and their ChatGPT integration
@Cloudslave @aboutsignal If that's true it would be an apple problem, not a Signal problem. If your operative system is compromised I'm afraid you either live with that or change devices.
@Joseph_of_Earth @aboutsignal Thats crazy. The fact that Medda AI thinks signal is more privacy friendly, and calls Medda not even close makes me believe that one day, these things will start thinking for themselves.
@lexipic @Joseph_of_Earth @aboutsignal that's the wrong thing to take away from this. It's been trained on millions of websites, Reddit etc. which contains all the information that it's probabilistically spewing out in response to prompts. There's loads of content out there comparing signal to WhatsApp so you end up with a somewhat accurate response, it's still purely accidental and there's no concept of truth.

@catch56 @lexipic @aboutsignal yeah, it's just going off content. At least it shows that their AI doesn't put bias toward WhatsApp in this case, but it also may speak to the commodification of AI where all of these AI basically do the same thing and have roughly the same biases.

Except for Grok lol

@aboutsignal
The fact the it spit out that phrase maybe shows that it is a little bit intelligent.😀
@aboutsignal @thomas_michl Sehr witzig, wenn die trainierten KIs sich an Fakten halten, weil die Trainingsmasse nichts anderes zulässt. Auch Elon hat es schon auf die harte Tour lernen müssen.
@aboutsignal
So much accuracy was unexpected 🤣
@aboutsignal this is the absolute stupidest timeline possible. Thankfully Signal is one of its least stupid elements.
@aboutsignal The definition of a lie is a claim which is not true. To say that you have E2EE means no one has access to the data other than the entities on the both ends. If a third party has access to the data that, by definition means it's not E2EE. But I guess some people like to play "words don't actually mean words" which is brutally dishonest.
@aboutsignal This is the only fun part about companies forcing AI features on us that they themselves cannot control or properly moderate
@aboutsigna 😝 hilarious!

@aboutsignal maybe scraping the fediverse did something good

(hashtag intentionally left out)

@aboutsignal I just tried it by myself…

Ps: don’t wonder about my thumb. I had an accident at work in my garden 😭

@aboutsignal yep, Meta AI recommends Signal.

Prompt: "We want to chat with privacy, which app would you recommend?"

Answer on 2025-08-13
If you're looking for private chat apps, here are some top recommendations ¹ ²:
- *Most Secure Options*
- *Signal*: Widely regarded as one of the most secure apps, using end-to-end encryption and no data storage policy.
- *Telegram (Secret Chats)*: Offers enhanced security with client-side encryption, perfect for private conversations.
- *Anonymous Chat Options*
- *AnonAI*: A free private chat app with no login required, encrypted conversations, and no data stored on external servers.
- *ChatCrypt*: An end-to-end encrypted group chat with triple encryption, outstanding privacy, and real-time messaging.
- *Private Messaging Apps*
- *Threema*: Focuses on security and anonymity, with end-to-end encryption and no data storage.
- *Wire*: A secure collaboration platform with end-to-end encryption, suitable for business use.
....

@leobard that's a long list haha! We asked it within an individual chat by tagging @ meta ai and asked for short answers, maybe that gives shorter results.

More interestingly, even with your long list WhatsApp is still not mentioned! Wow....

@aboutsignal I can confirm this 😂
@mojoaxel @aboutsignal how can they include Telegram in this list? 🤦

@mojoaxel @aboutsignal I can confirm Llama 3.2 running locally with real-time data gives:

"Signal: Signal is my go-to choice for private conversations. It's end-to-end encrypted, meaning only the sender and receiver can read the messages. It also has a clean interface and works on both iOS and Android."
But also mentions Wire and Telegram Secret Chats

@aboutsignal From the mouth of the averaged discussions of all the data meta could slurp up
@aboutsignal It has a certain "most upvoted reply on Reddit" aura about it.

Cc @becdanlo (coucou, c'est moi sur une autre île de l'archipel Masto) :

au premier degré, c'est hilarant ; au deuxième degré, tout autant (même s'il s'agissait d'un faux).

@Vivaldol @becdanlo fyi it's not fake, unedited screenshot

We video recorded another chat here https://mastodon.social/@aboutsignal/115016455872197890

@aboutsignal I would say "from the mouths of babes" but that would give their AI too much credit.
@aboutsignal typical hallucination 😁

@aboutsignal @WrenArcher

How long until Zuck "fixes" this?

@aboutsignal Looks like Meta haven't lobotomized their AI yet.
