BRB making some white chocolate bark pretzels for the next mycological meet-up.

@bitshifter Wow! I've not seen one of those, I wonder which parts of Australia, because either I've been unlucky / unobservant / or they're not around my neck of the woods - any or multiple are possible!
@level98 yeah the Wikipedia page is not super informative on that front. There's an Australian PDF in the references which mentions "Fruits year-round in tropical and subtropical areas" and observations in QLD. I imagine places that aren't too dry.
@bitshifter Qld would explain why I haven't come across it... only visited there a few times.
@oseiler @bitshifter I just put your photos into the "Seek" app and it gave me https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ileodictyon_cibarium

@bitshifter TΕ«tae kehua! (Lit. β€œghost poo”.)
@mpj17 @bitshifter If they didn't have a name, I was thinking "Buckyshrooms." But "Ghost Poo" is better. πŸ‘»
@Gorfram @mpj17 ghost poo is a great name πŸ˜‚

@bitshifter wow, truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Looks like it's made by a high school math teacher out of crumpled aluminum foil and spray painted white.

Thx for sharing! BTW - what's the scale of the thing?

@ottaross it's about 10 cm length wise at a guess
