@SnoopJ Could be. On the video, you'd hear the "crack" of something being fired, followed very shortly by the "ting-ting-ting-ting" of something hitting the ground and rolling away.
The AP cam was maybe 20 feet behind the police line when they fired. When the police moved forward, the camera operator made a point of stopping to film several of those shells on the curb before proceeding.
There were also some short, squat shells that looked a lot like the ones the guy in your screen grab is showing off.
