@pomarede Pedro Pascal is cast in so much stuff that he’s in the discovery of the solar system’s spiral.

@pomarede @Nick_Stevens_graphics

I wonder how large the structure is? Gravity and inertia is going to still do its thing even at smaller scale given proper particle size, I would think

@Chancerubbage @pomarede @Nick_Stevens_graphics “As the Galactic tide acts to decouple bodies from the scattered disk it creates a spiral structure in physical space that is roughly 15,000 au in length.”

@edwiebe @pomarede @Nick_Stevens_graphics

You know what? I’d say that is kinda big. Given Sun to Pluto is 40 to 50 AU.

I thought it might be more akin to a dust devil in a parking lot. I was guessing perhaps a Jupiter size ice and dust gathering showing a spiral. Or up to one AU

@edwiebe is that the Oort Cloud as viewed/visualuzed from the outside then? A zooming in view approaching from far outside the Oort Cloud itself?
@pomarede Maybe it's a tiny galaxy full of tiny lifeforms and little civilisations. Maybe the water bears are from there originally.
