@K3LOE to be honest, at this point I'm disinclined to click that link or even learn what the ARRL has to say on any given topic.

They've shown scant concern for the personal information of any international amateurs when their systems were hacked and since have done nothing but make an embarrassing spectacle of themselves.

Their way is not and has never been the only way and the sooner they learn this lesson and take it to heart, the quicker the rest of the world will engage.

@K3LOE I will point out explicitly that my disengagement from the ARRL does not extend to amateurs who live in USA.

I'm always interested to hear what anyone is up to and how they're getting on air to make noise.

@vk6flab @K3LOE they've made a small move to suggest the "original" details of an amateur cannot be looked up, giving the example of someone registering with their home address then using a post office box later, the original address is still public!
But, my friends, just don't make anyone's home address public ever.

@M0YNG @vk6flab @K3LOE dismal effort, that.

ARRL spent a short page introducing the document, and a whole page introducing themselves. They finally got to business on page 3 with half a page on deleting the symbol rate limit, and then they blew it.

Despite every warning the FCC was only interested in deletion, ARRL spent the next two pages on something starting “Update and modernize…” and another page on something else starting “Modernize…”.

@M0YNG @vk6flab @K3LOE It’ll take a miracle for the Deletion Czar to turn to page 4. Whatever it was they wanted to accomplish, ARRL couldn’t express it in terms of deletion, burning the opportunity.

Finally, on page 6, they started another heading with “Delete”… and then blew it again with “and replace”! Bzzt. Sorry, the digital code limitation is here to stay, because ARRL can’t read a rubric.

The next heading starts with “Implement”.

The last four… it won’t matter.

@M0YNG @vk6flab @K3LOE Contrasting example: by page 3, @OpenResearchIns were listing specific clauses to delete from 47 CFR § 97.303 to remove obstacles to amateur use of the 219MHz band. https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/10329271641887/1
