By 'platform', do you mean opensource server software we can self-host and federate, or is this another centralized proprietary walled garden?

And if not FOSS, does anyone know of a kit that does what #mobilizon does, only correctly? 😅

For a Music Label site, I need …

- groups with sensible fediverse handles
- groups are site members only, assigned by admin
- membership added only by CSV or such
- members have a fediverse presence
- a Local feed and a site fedi acct
- events can be replicated and venue profiles stored
- toots look at least ok on other platforms
- template customization or theme that's not ugly 😅
- group calendars

Other than no templates and the long list of caveats and workarounds, #mobilizon would do all of what I need, if it worked. I believe it was originally meant for planning protests; music is our protest 😅

Sadly support collapsed years ago. A new agency recently took over, they released one update that then fucked up the calendar widget and have been busy on other things since. It was SO close 😫

I could do all this with ordinary WordPress, but where's the fun in that?
