The man who “accidentally” threw two Nazi salutes at a rally recently retweeted someone who claimed Stalin, Mao, and Hitler didn't murder millions--their government employees did.

These are the people running our government, in case you want to know what's ahead.

@augieray

...gulp...Musk is now a public sector worker... how many will he kill?

@augieray It's obvious that Alice has very little grasp of nuance or history - and that's being generous.

Yes, public sector workers were the sharp end of the stick doing damage in those regimes.

They were sent to do their horrible tasks by lackeys installed by the leaders of those regimes, and the captains of industry that went along for the ride profited.

Sound familiar?

And of course, sometimes people like Alice found themselves looking at a pointy stick and were surprised.

@rhempel @augieray the point is, that Musk as a government employee reposts this shit.
@augieray What's that even mean? Like it could be interpreted as "just following orders" is not a defensible excuse for murdering people, but it doesn't seem likely in that context. Elon is the one giving orders, here.
@Sibshops @augieray Context is definitely needed. If one of my friends said it, I'd know enough about their character to figure they are saying "we need to be ready to refuse an immoral order" or something to that effect. When Melon Husk retweets it, knowing his lack of character, I assume he's defending Hitler or excusing mass layoffs.

@Sibshops @augieray I think that he's trying to say that our government is filled with public sector Nazis? Maybe that all government bureaucracies get taken over by Nazis and drones that will do anything?

It's hard to say. It's actually a well known idea that's expressed often but it's in the context you are talking about. No, Hitler didn't act alone and could not have. There's a great book, "Hitler's willing executioners," that goes over some of this pertaining to the police forces.

@Sibshops @augieray
I honestly thought it was obvious? They believe government is always evil. Taxes are always evil. Government should not exist at all. Right-wing might-makes-right wannabe dictators crushing everyone else ruthlessly. Sociopaths. They usually think we're all like them deep down and just faking being decent caring people, and only they are brave enough to be out and proud sociopaths.
Typical libertarians.
@Sibshops @augieray
I think they're trying to say that public sector workers are the real villains as a way of justifying firing them. Funny how they're starting with the government workers who specialize in helping people while keeping the ones who are heavily armed and have a history of actually killing people.

@Sibshops @augieray

I'm with you, and I do consider myself a _reasonably_ intelligent human being. I think this is ambiguous at best unless the author has since provided additional information.

When I first saw it, with no context or criticism around it, I took it to mean that the people working for and supporting these thugs need to be mindful that they may end up being the ones doing the bad and end up in front of the ICC or the likes.

Edit: Though to be fair, when I first saw it, it either didn't include the bit about Musk retweeting it, or I didn't see that part.

@Sibshops @augieray It is clear Elon does not want his competition inflating their numbers.

@augieray

From the guy who is working night and day to reshape the government into something capable of murdering more of its own citizens … sounds like a warning.

@augieray If you are a government employee in the USA, here you can see, how the responsibilities will be shared between you and your bosses if anything goes wrong!
@augieray
The same people who will rid the world of musk
@augieray Yes, and when Trump attacks his enemies with his goons will you keep Trump blameless and heap condemnation on his thugs?
@Robo105 I don't hold him blameless now.

@Robo105 @augieray I would actually hold them more accountable, yeah.

I think maybe Trump is barely there. Anyone involved can say, "no."

His goons and the people who voted for him, quite frankly. Without them Trump is some crazy little bitch crying screaming about people eating cats and dogs. Shitting and pissing himself. Just like now, except unable to do any damage.

In this case, the gun can say, "No!" In fact, it might be the only part of the situation that can.

@crazyeddie @augieray If it comes to civil war that might be the only answer but I think civil organization which avoids war/violence would be a better solution. Killing Trump would only have him replaced by a younger smarter version. Revolutions eat their own children is the old saying and already MAGA is fracturing into fiefdoms. This will give an organized opposition its opportunity. The problem is that the left loves infighting over slight differences
@Robo105 @augieray I didn't say anything about killing Trump.
@crazyeddie @augieray My apologies. I mis-read your post

@augieray The irony is, these people are leading a cultural revolution much like Stalin and Mao did.

And the carnage may yet arrive for USA as it did for the Russian and Chinese educated peoples.

@augieray The leader could then say: Ich habe es nicht getan. The people could say: Ich habe es nicht gewusst.

😱

@augieray

oh shut up, shut up, shut uuuuuuup. What a toss pot. 🤬🤬

@augieray So is he arguing that government employees should disobey his orders? That "only giving orders" is the new defense?

I'm confused!

@augieray Musk is detached from reality and jokes about autocrats, genocide, and people in the bottom 99.99%. That's why he's tribal besties with Trump. Millions & billions should stop listening to him. Instead, work harder to remove money's grip on political power.
@augieray the leaders and the people who followed them are all wrong
@augieray Ah, the old defence of "I was only issuing orders"...
@augieray Quite often, when one notes musk's antisemitic behavior, many respond "he can't be, because the Israeli government holds him in high regard". I hear that pretty much daily. I shall leave it for everyone to draw their conclusions, if so desired.

@augieray

This is insufferable. This fraud needs to be locked now.

@augieray

Vile and evil, this is just the beginning…

Be warned.

@augieray Maybe it's time to remind to overzealous officials over there, that "I obeyed to orders" will not be a valid line of defense when trampling on human rights... In diversity I trust ! #InDiversityITrust
@augieray Tell us you're a Nazi without telling us you're a Nazi.
@augieray This must be one of the worst takes I've seen in my life.
@augieray I just don't get how this was made possible, USA. There were proofs of who was Trump. You knew. How does your justice work?!
@augieray same kinda people that defend manson.

@augieray this is a true statement to begin with*, but perverted into 'anti public-sector' propaganda.
As Musk likes to read it, "public sector" kills people and therefore it has to be abolished as being the true source of evil. Hitler, Stalin, Mao were innocent victims of the public sector.

* the 'true' part: After WW2, germans were very quick to say "oh, that? That wasn't us, that was Hitler" Or: "That was not germans, but the Nazis" Or: "I just followed orders, nothing wrong with that, eh?"

@augieray Elon Musk himself is a public sector worker, likely murdering thousands of people himself
@augieray
If so, that would give a lot of power to the public sector. So they could just stop killing people and the Trump-elon gov will appreciate that?
🖤♥️
