The man who “accidentally” threw two Nazi salutes at a rally recently retweeted someone who claimed Stalin, Mao, and Hitler didn't murder millions--their government employees did.

These are the people running our government, in case you want to know what's ahead.

@augieray What's that even mean? Like it could be interpreted as "just following orders" is not a defensible excuse for murdering people, but it doesn't seem likely in that context. Elon is the one giving orders, here.
@Sibshops @augieray Context is definitely needed. If one of my friends said it, I'd know enough about their character to figure they are saying "we need to be ready to refuse an immoral order" or something to that effect. When Melon Husk retweets it, knowing his lack of character, I assume he's defending Hitler or excusing mass layoffs.

@Sibshops @augieray I think that he's trying to say that our government is filled with public sector Nazis? Maybe that all government bureaucracies get taken over by Nazis and drones that will do anything?

It's hard to say. It's actually a well known idea that's expressed often but it's in the context you are talking about. No, Hitler didn't act alone and could not have. There's a great book, "Hitler's willing executioners," that goes over some of this pertaining to the police forces.

@Sibshops @augieray
I honestly thought it was obvious? They believe government is always evil. Taxes are always evil. Government should not exist at all. Right-wing might-makes-right wannabe dictators crushing everyone else ruthlessly. Sociopaths. They usually think we're all like them deep down and just faking being decent caring people, and only they are brave enough to be out and proud sociopaths.
Typical libertarians.
@Sibshops @augieray
I think they're trying to say that public sector workers are the real villains as a way of justifying firing them. Funny how they're starting with the government workers who specialize in helping people while keeping the ones who are heavily armed and have a history of actually killing people.

@Sibshops @augieray

I'm with you, and I do consider myself a _reasonably_ intelligent human being. I think this is ambiguous at best unless the author has since provided additional information.

When I first saw it, with no context or criticism around it, I took it to mean that the people working for and supporting these thugs need to be mindful that they may end up being the ones doing the bad and end up in front of the ICC or the likes.

Edit: Though to be fair, when I first saw it, it either didn't include the bit about Musk retweeting it, or I didn't see that part.

@Sibshops @augieray It is clear Elon does not want his competition inflating their numbers.
