People keep saying we live in “interesting times” but is it just me or is all this nazi shit boring and tired as fuck
@Daojoan Exactly. And then we act all surprised all of a sudden: "Did Nazi that coming". It's tiring AF indeed.
@Daojoan It's old and unimaginative and repetitive horror, but unfortunately fearing for one's life is never boring.

@Daojoan 💯

Absolutely. I was just thinking how boring and plain elon's coming out as Dark MAGA party was. A pathetic jump and a black hat?

Where's the kevlar-carbon nanotube weaved supervillian suit?

@SrRochardBunson @Daojoan didn’t even have a cape, underwear was inside the pants, no flashy emblem. Spirit Halloween’s open right now, there is no excuse for this. 1/10
@SrRochardBunson @Daojoan
Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!

@SrRochardBunson
> A pathetic jump and a black hat?

Don't undersell it. It wasn't just one jump, it was pathetic *many* jumps as he pranced and cavorted around like a dickhead.

Check Out These Cool Moves! | Defector

Last week, the Washington Post wrote about why so many of the people who wait in line for hours to get into Donald Trump’s political rallies wind up leaving before they’re over. The answers are not necessarily surprising. Trump often takes the stage more than an hour late, and in his current state of diminishment…

@Daojoan

The quotes around the phrase are sarcastic.

@Daojoan they need to just find the Ark of the Covenant and melt their faces off, already... it's past time to be done with Nazis!
@Daojoan it gets more exciting when they choose you as the next “out” group.
@Daojoan Yep. It is very not-interesting.
@Daojoan
history is on repeat, just with new and scary ways to mess with and kill people
@Daojoan so, I run #GishgallopGirlPodcast and I generally agree with you on this. The only thing I have found interesting, and one of the reasons I started our show, is that my subject of focus, #CandaceOwens is a black woman that is working entirely against her own self-interest, on the surface. But she's a grifter thru-&-thru, so she serves a higher self-interest of greed, as do all grifters. I find that aspect fascinating. Otherwise, yes. Boring and weird people.
@Daojoan The U.S fought and defeated the Nazis 8 decades ago, only to have them return - with insane support from a much too large percentage of our population.

@cmlael67 @Daojoan They had significant support inside our country in the 20s-40s too - the German atrocity had been in part inspired by US conduct in decades & centuries prior.

People whose beliefs embraced those horrors didn’t die out, we just made it socially ruinous to express such in public. They’ve been around, telling generations of their kids their side didn’t lose, since the US Civil War. All that changed is it’s now *profitable* to express in public.

@Daojoan no, definitely not just you! Have you read the Discworld novel "Interesting Times" by Sir Terry Pratchett? In this story, cursing someone by saying "May you live in interesting times!" is quite common 😶
@deadknight @Daojoan DDG just told me it was an ancient Chinese curse. I thought it was Vulcan.
@kelleynnn @Daojoan og yes I remember, this is what inspired Sir Terry! The whole story is about the Discworld edition of China.
@Daojoan Thats how I felt about the phrase "unprecedented times". Nothing is "unprecedented", it's all just a remake of the originals.
@Daojoan interesting time, yes ! I think so, but the interesting thing which everybody says is firstly the training issues which we have to face.
@Daojoan It's exhausting af that's for sure. Don't really know how many more election cycles I can take of the same old rhetoric. Hoping for a breath of fresh air within the next few years, but I'll hold my breath.
@Daojoan The project 2025 manifesto is not interesting, it is a statement of fascist christo-terrorism. They mean to dominate and deport anyone they deem as undesirable like the nazis did.

@Daojoan In college we had to pick someone to refute. I picked Hitler because it was in there and I'd actually read Rise and Fall when I was like 10 or something and this was was his "struggles" that I'd never read.

I was praised for my response by my teacher but I had to say that I honestly felt I had gone the easy route. "The banality of evil" is no joke.

@Daojoan Those who say we're living in interesting times, more like shitty times.

@Daojoan

My patience has run thin in regards to ultranationalism and I too am tired and exhausted from MAGAs running their mouths like a broken record playing the same track over and over.

@Daojoan

I think the worst part about Nazis is how tired and boring their shit is. They're still using the same old bullshit lines from their great grandfathers. And what blows my mind is that it still works.

@Daojoan "Interesting" like discovering you just stepped on a wasp nest, or some nutcase one booth over talking about how all the liberals need to be taken out (happened to us during the Obama admin, I think).
@Daojoan It's not just you, they should be saying we live in "repetitive times". Or "terrifying times". Or "so the good news is we figured out how long society's memory lasts, the bad news is it's not longer than 83 years" times.
@Daojoan so stop voting for right wing Nazis. Oh you can't. They're all either Nazis or sympathisers/backers.

@Daojoan

I’d like to put ‘paid’ to the nazis and all the other last century dreck. We need to turn and face the planetary crisis that is bearing down on us all
