Apropos of nothing, more billionaires should live in fear of being pulled off their private jets and arrested.
I seem to have constructed a glorious honeypot here. You're welcome / I'm sorry.
Still shaking my head at being scolded that I should stop "othering" billionaires.

@jwz

I don’t want billionaires to be arrested for no reason, I want billionaires to be arrested for a lot of reasons.

@jwz Meanwhile me, pushing the overton window as far to the left as I can…
That'll show those poor!

YouTube
@Viss @jwz There are many people, maybe even a silent majority in some places, who want no part in mobs that offer to look out for people in their group and rob people not in the group; they just want people to respect one another's rights and leave one another alone.
@cgervasi @Viss @jwz if that was true they wouldn’t be defending billionaires, the group that least respects the rights of others
@donw @Viss @jwz What your saying implies you can't conceive of seeing people as individuals rather than group members. By this reckoning, now that people with Italian ancestry are usually seems as members of the "white" group, I should not care about BLM... Or really anyone's rights unless they're mine or I'm somehow in on the grift.

@cgervasi @donw @Viss @jwz your life is measurably worse due to the existence of so many billionaires distorting laws, sucking up resources, and pushing for ever more fashy nonsense because it makes it harder for us to fight back against them

we didn't start this fight, they did, and they deserve to be punished for it

@cgervasi @Viss @jwz The boot will never love you back no matter how many times you lick it.

@cgervasi @donw @Viss @jwz

Consider that a billionaire isn't a kind of person, it's a fact pattern that some specific individual people match. Nobody is inherently a billionaire, they got that way by doing specific amoral things and not doing specific moral things, by choice.

Not All Billionaires makes no more sense than Not All Murderers.

If you still don't get it, you're trying not to.

@cgervasi @Viss @jwz anyone unhappy about being called names for being a billionaire can simply stop being a billionaire.

In doing so they’d make the world a better place. Sadly Bezo’s ex seems to be the only one interested in doing that

@jwz This seems to be one of your roles on the Internet, and you are fortunately/unfortunately good at it.
@jwz thank you, it's really beautiful
@jwz Billionaires are of course incredibly grateful for the little people standing up for them on social media.
@jwz Every billionaire who disembarks freely is a policy failure
@jmc @jwz Note to self: stop at $999,999,999.99
@jwz the most expensive stop and frisk
@jwz heh, well theres DEFINITELY gonna be flailing involved
@jwz Ideally no one should live in fear of being accused of a crime except for crooks.
@cgervasi @jwz *Appropriate* taxation would make being a billionaire at the present value of a dollar functionally require illegal conduct, so: exactly.
@cgervasi That's what @jwz said - billionaires.
@cgervasi @jwz You are just repeating the same thing he said
@[email protected] @jwz Good job! You know how to repeat the same thing as the initial post. Here's a treat! 🍬
@cgervasi @jwz Billionaires have broken the law in their own way to become billionaires, but not all of them.
@cgervasi @jwz All billionaires are criminals. Otherwise they wouldn't be billionaires

@cgervasi being a billionaire is indicative of numerous crimes, nobody earns a billion dollars, much less tens or hundreds of billions, you get there by robbing everyone

remember folks, far and away the most common form of theft is wage theft, and it is by far the least punished

@maxthyme @jwz If it's possible to create something worth $10M, why not 100s of millions or even billions?

@cgervasi is it possible for one person to invent, develop, produce, market, distribute, and sell something worth 10 million dollars?

How many things worth that many millions are even available to buy, because we're discussing stuff more like military expenditures or infrastructure projects. Know what would probably have a lot more money available if we were taxing the ultra wealthy and corporations properly? INFRASTRUCTURE!

@maxthyme @jwz Are you saying it is impossible to create something worth $10M. I'm asking be I thought you said the cutoff was in the $100M range.
@cgervasi I said no one earns a billion dollars, much less tens or hundreds of billions, and no, without the obscene distortion of billionaires there is no real market for multi million dollar products outside of governments
@maxthyme @jwz oh, for some reason I thought you said 10s of millions, but I see you said billions.
This is the one that got me to block 👍
@maxthyme Why are you still arguing with this bozo?
@jwz to help others formulate arguments that directly attack the absurd defenses billionaire defenders will throw out
@jwz or ending up in a 55 gallon drum. Either is fine by me.
@jwz or eaten.
@jwz ok, I'll go with composting the rich. Less direct, but still effective.
@jwz apropos no one should live in fear.
@jwz But it depends on what kind of billionaire you are: not all billionaires have to be afraid of being killed.
@simoneremoli Time from post to literal "Not All Billionaires" reply -- 46 minutes.
@jwz The boot lickers are slipping, that's waaaaaay longer than I would have expected! @simoneremoli
@jwz I would’ve guessed it would be faster than that on a Sunday afternoon.
@jwz @simoneremoli if the plane-pulling starts happening frequently enough the “good” billionaires might actually contribute something back to the world. Maybe even through that weird thing called “taxes”
@sfrazer434 @jwz @simoneremoli 'the good billionaires'? There are two exceptions to the rule?
@jwz and your initial post neglected to say anything at all about what should done with them after they had been arrested. Their deaths would appear to be figments of @simoneremoli's imagination.
@jwz @simoneremoli no such thing as a victimless billionaire.
@simoneremoli @jwz correct, they should be afraid of being remembered as tyrants as well.
@simoneremoli @jwz I personally believe that every single billionaire on earth should live in constant fear of a) arrest, b) their staff turning on them, c) the general population rounding them up and taking their money. No exceptions.
@jwz as a friend commented recently, “it’s amazing more insurance executives aren’t found dead in front of their house”.
@petrillic @jwz I have said similar. It’s really hard to believe that it doesn’t happen at least a few times a year.
@petrillic @jwz If you'd like to see how this might play out, I recommend the book Radicalized by Cory Doctorow.
