I've said a number of times this is the problem with reading large amounts of misinformation.
You start reading all the bullshit stories and nonsense science and bits of it sink in at some level. You may not remember the source but your brain's gonna retrieve it anyway and tada, it's fact now.
Me, a freshman in college: "Wow, Socrates was so principled he was put to death for it."
Me, today: "Wow, Socrates was so autistic he was put to death for it."
Wow. THIS is the 21st century I signed up for!
(I remember when the UK's heart transplant program got underway in the mid-1980s, and how cutting-edge it was, and what the survival rates were like: under 70%, with survival to 2 years post-op being "good".)
