Overdue share post, this time from @malte: https://radikal.social/@malte/112858569606797150

Twenty #books that have influenced me. I'm very frustrated with how few books I actually chew through cover-to-cover; my mind lurches sideways and up and down to dozens of ideas and questions not on the page. I have been in the middle of perhaps six books for varying numbers of years. Getting my #anthropology degree was more difficult than it should have been. Anyway, here are three, with 17 more in the comments. #20books

#20books № 7: Look at how far I got through Bram #Stoker's "Dracula" (so fucking good) while I was without a #phone!

While reading, I've been unable to help but draw parallels with the story and #pathocracy, especially #psychopathic #leadership - it's a thing, look up red and gold collar #crime - and #capitalism.

I'll finish it eventually.

№ 8 of my #20books list, which I'm dispensing in no particular order, is Fleet Maull's "Radical Responsibility". Such responsibility is the action that follows radical acceptance.

I borrowed this #book from my neighbour maybe a month ago.

Have I even opened it? Of course not. Do I radically accept this? Doesn't feel that way. I'm also feeling shitty about the poor quality of my writing in this post. Blergh.

I should work in sales.

Some of this #book is nauseating but page 201 isn't too bad, even if the last bit of the #Salzberg quote seems to make no sense to me?

None of this shit is new but repackaging good stuff so that we read it is fine by moi, like grating vegies into a kid's dinner so that they FUCKING EAT IT.

I like this bit: "loving-kindness begins with deeply #accepting ourselves, recognizing our basic #humanity, and acknowledging the unconditional basic goodness underlying even our most difficult challenges."
