If you give up learning IT topics like Cisco networking, Linux servers, or programming today, you’ll save yourself many headaches and regrets.
Please don’t take life advice from me 🙏
@nixCraft why? Computers were a mistake anyway
@0crash haha 🤣 that is true we tricked a CPU which is literally a rock 🪨
@nixCraft If I take this advise to my heart, would it be violating your intention?🤔
@nixCraft So, by advising me/us not to take life advice from you, you're actually giving me life advice… which you just told me not to do. It's like a recursive function that never ends! Should I just throw a return false; into this loop and hope for the best? 🤔 Circular dependency?
@nixCraft and what would that advice be? Gimme an example
@nixCraft this is an oxymoron, so I'm going to ignore and follow your original suggestion
@nixCraft What do you mean? I started learning vim years ago, but I just can't quit.
@honze_net @nixCraft As someone who uses vim daily, I can confidently say that you cannot quit vim. You either do everything from inside vim, or you bash your computer, head to the store, and get yourself a new computer.
@nixCraft Can you learn Cisco? Isn't it all (images, academy, documentation, ...) behind a paywall?
@mark22k @nixCraft it is. It's a huge ripoff. You'll find the details in my other comment.
@nixCraft Wat? Coded professionally for many years, still enjoying it on a hobbiest basis today. On a Linux desktop.
@nixCraft I paid 1000 usd on CCNA. Had 3 weeks of interruption in learning that made me be late with finishing the course. On August 17th it expired. To finish it, I need to repurchase it, but this time it costs 1800. Exam is another few hundreds and job perspective is...
Well, fuck them!
With that thousand dollars I could have bought a new bike and still have half of it as reserve or for investing.
