wow there are apparently a lot of these
@Viss I wish someone posted this sign when dumb Garmin navigated me into a minefield in Bosnia in 2014.
@rubinjoni holy shit
@Viss Yeah, it was after the floods - the water took the bridge on the road we used to take, and Garmin started directing us to most bonkers routes imaginable. I checked one route with an old paper map I had in the car, and it made sense. We went through some villages, an orchard, and then we ran out of asphalt. We continued along the dirt road, occasionally spotting the small red "Mines!" signs. It was all fun and games until the signs on both sides of the road formed a narrow corridor. 1/2
@Viss At that point, I had a sudden moment of clarity regarding the floods and demining efforts - somebody at some point cleared the road, and we seemed to be close to a major road, but it was really pushing luck... Leaving the car was out of the question, so we drove in reverse until we found a spot where we could U turn. There was a big sign with the map of planned and realized demining in the center of the village, but we missed it entirely while following nav directions. 2/2
‘Are you serious?’: Hawaii Island mayor in disbelief after 3rd vehicle drives into harbor

In just over one year, three vehicles have driven into the water at Honokohau Small Boat Harbor in Kailua Kona.

@Viss There’s one of these on the way to the Palm Springs Arial Tramway
@Viss Makes me want to print up a bunch and plant them near tourist traps.
@Viss @HTeuMeuLeu happened to me this summer, Google Maps and Apple plan were wrong.
@Viss friend in Montana had to put one of those on the gate to their ranch.
@Viss True that! Those gadgets are not only very often mistake people, but also lead not being aware or beginner drivers to pretty unpleasant or even serious accidents. I saw personally such cases many times. Sadly lots of people are very dependent on such things, services etc., instead of being able to think on its own hand, and relay only on the own experience behind the wheel, which is best thing, every driver can do. The well known "limited trust rule". Or even "do not trust them" one is it.
@Viss @HollieK72 A bunch of lying, traitorous, evil dooers. IMHO of course. I'll stick with DDG :)
@Viss I wonder if that's on Street View?
@Viss
There are so many places I could put a sign like that and I'm not just talking about Google Maps.
@Viss Fixing the internet one sign at a time.
@Viss made me chuckle..near us there is a steep hill with a very sharp turn then a narrow 17th century bridge. Sign at the top of the hill says 'No Caravans or wide vehicles' but some older sat navs direct traffic down there. Much fun and games when large lorries go down, realise they can't get round the bend but also can't reverse back up. Usually need winching out by local farmers.
@Viss Posting images without Alt-Text is wrong too.
