Just heard about this excellent micro fundraising idea #CharityNinjas which was started by the comedian Jason Manford.. there is a FB page too but they promote small UK charities struggling to reach crowdfunding targets on #JustGiving and encourage people to swoop in and donate £2 and they reach the target in hours. Husbands hair is getting a bit long - he brushed it back tonight after a shower and it went all curly like he'd had an old lady perm.. looks remarkably like this and made me laugh a lot!

I'm on a train and surrounded by business folk having phone conversations about share offers, hiring and firing, costs of new software, a potential merger, ski trip after a conference. I've just had a call from the local homeless outreach guy asking for our help over the holidays. Forecast is for cold weather end of next week (when council will be on skeleton staff) which means emergency accommodation for rough sleepers will kick in... they will need to liaise with us, police and churches as we will pretty much be the only organisations functioning.

Scammers incite panic by mentioning account deletion or freezing

On Mastodon, the server owner, server admin & server moderator accounts have profile badges & are the only accounts who can delete, limit or freeze your account completely

External admins & mods can only restrict or block accounts from their own server, they cannot system-wide nuke accounts

No-one will ask for your password, nor insist you transfer your account to an email address they specify

If in doubt talk to your server admin or mod team 🙏

The state of UK train services is so bad that every time I go anywhere beyond Leeds I take drinks, food, battery packs, books and other supplies expecting trains to be delayed or cancelled. Off to Bristol via Lancaster later ..3 trains so should take about 6 hours.. but if not I probably have enough stuff to last about 2 days!!

Settled down to finish off a funding application thinking it needs to be in by noon tomorrow.. just realised I got the closing date wrong and have til noon on Weds next week ..hooray! Off to bed now and delighted this isn't going to be the late night I thought it was 😴
