And my 73-year-old eyes went right to it like a heat-seeking missile. What have I become? 😱
The Atlantic is doomy too 😔
Media bias is more and more a real problem. Is it in fact criminal intent?
@emptywheel wow, and they wasted a lot of front-page column-inches on a photo of some unidentified guy on a bike? 😵💫
You'd think there was nothing important to which to draw people's attention 😡
Fantasticstuff @emptywheel
Thanks so much... this exercise should be turned into a full-time mockery of the NYT. I'd almost pay to see it, even with my typical distrust and disgust of corporatist media-infotainment complex punditry...
@ArmyGirl @emptywheel I really don't know what's so unusual about France that makes this "ungovernable"... it really sounds like biased to say the least, either that or whoever wrote that doesn't have a clue about politics.
@[email protected] You know what, I can't stand this crap anymore. Centre and left crush the far-right in France's election. NYT headline: "ungovernable". Apparently something that appears to be routine in several european countries - a democracy where no party holds an absolute majority - merits "ungovernable" in a headline...
Growing up NYC in the mid 80s … I read the Daily News and the Post because it wasn’t as sophisticated and highly detailed (boring for me) as the New York Times. It was great in the early 2000 with bush cheney rushing to war with the saddam.
Today, it’s trash. The National Enquirer is more reliable!
⬆️ @emptywheel
Now #NYTimes looks like a #RightWing tabloid that it is.
This annotation is interesting:
>> #GOP platform embraces #FetalPersonhood… and wildly misrepresents current economy & record decrease in crime
Population numbers would balloon if we double-counted pregnant women and skew statistics in different directions
Considering #ZygotesInCrime would dramatically decrease already decreasing crime rate, but including #UnemployedZygotes would dramatically increase unemployment rates
this has been applicable to the GOP for about 8 years now also
@jerry I've always been frustrated by how straightforward the logic is, as I see it.
Unless the GOP/NYT wants for the US what the Kremlin wants, why would their objectives and messaging to promote them match the Kremlin's?
Democrats have been slow or unwilling to acknowledge this for sure.
@jerry @emptywheel If it amplifies propaganda like a Russian influence op, and attacks the Democratic candidate like a Russian influence op...

@emptywheel
The NYT’s blatant & consistent bias is as unconscionable as it is hubristic.
