Omröstningen sköts upp - förmodligen för att det inte skulle ha funnits en majoritet för #ChatControl förslaget idag. Intressant idé om demokrati. Men uppskjuten är inte inställd. Vi måste fortsätta om vi vill fortsätta att ha säker kommunikation i Europa.

Voting on #ChatControl has been postponed – supposedly because there wouldn't have been a majority for the proposal. What kind of democracy is this supposed to be–postponing voting until the outcome will likely be pro surveillance? Let's keep telling our governments to stop pre-criminalizing us all.

@viennawriter I'm relieved that there doesn't seem to be a majority for this proposal, at least not now.

On the other hand, I think it is time that bright minds at companies like #Signal (@Mer__edith), #Google and #Meta come up with alternative proposals to counter the heinous problem of child abuse material on the internet.

Privacy is a fundamental right, but so is the right to live and the right to sexual integrity.

Le vote a été reporté - probablement parce qu'il n'y aurait pas eu de majorité pour la proposition de #ChatControl aujourd'hui. Une conception intéressante de la démocratie. Nous devons rester vigilants si nous voulons continuer à avoir des communications sécurisées en Europe.

Die Abstimmung wurde verschoben – wohl weil es heute keine Mehrheit für den Vorschlag zur #Chatkontrolle gegeben hätte. Über dieses Demokratieverständnis, so lange zu verschieben, bis es wahrscheinlich eine Mehrheit gäbe, würde ich auch gerne nochmal reden. Und vor allem heißt das: Vom Tisch ist die Sache so noch nicht! Wir müssen weiter dranbleiben.

Chatkontrolle: Die Ratspräsidentschaft hat die Abstimmung wieder von der Tagesordnung gestrichen. Das sagen der Sprecher des Rats und die Sprecher von drei Staaten. Der Gesetzentwurf hätte keine ausreichende Mehrheit bekommen. Damit ist Belgien gescheitert, jetzt geht die Präsidentschaft an Ungarn. Auch bei dir gilt: Erstmal #Verfahrensabläufe der #EU checken, bevor man rummault. Geht alles mit rechten #Dingen zu. Das #Schlimmste ist aber erst mal verhindert - also durchaus ein #Grund zur #Freude. Bei der #Vorratsdatenspeicherung war das genauso ein #HickHack. Jetzt hat man erstmal gemerkt, was auf dem #Spiel steht.
