When it was sent to me, all the floppies had been relocated to an acid-free paper sleeve - I guess a previous owner had noticed and knew what to do. But I guess they still spent a couple decades nestled up to the manual.
@rallias For context, the floppies were fine - it's the paper that degraded from being in contact with the floppy's plastic.
But also, we don't use it as often anymore! Lower-quality acidic paper was far more common up until the 80s/early 90s. Acidic paper is cheaper but a lot stuff uses decent-quality paper now.
