Crazy that 4 years ago this was a super truck and now it’s a normal one
@SwiftOnSecurity $150k used to sound like a lot of money for a truck
@SwiftOnSecurity I have been thinking about trading mine in for the new XL model
@jerry @SwiftOnSecurity maybe directly go for a semi then?
@andrei_chiffa @SwiftOnSecurity its not a bad idea, but I don’t think I’ve seen a 4 door semi like that
@SwiftOnSecurity pretty sure that picture is what chatgpt returns if you prompt “show me a dude with innie genitalia”
@raineer nah he hates it
@SwiftOnSecurity @raineer
"Build me a machine that will burn an ungodly amount of fuel to do very little useful work."
@SwiftOnSecurity the male insecurity market is bottomless
@SwiftOnSecurity That's no truck, it's a wankpanzer

@SwiftOnSecurity "Ultimate pickup" eh?

Seems to be the ultimate at doing the following:
* Draining the bank account
* Destroying the environment
* Putting extra wear and tear on roads
* Not fitting in parking spaces
* Having a low gross weight to carrying capacity ratio.

@SwiftOnSecurity ever since somebody pointed out how tiny the bed is, that's all I can see when I see these big trucks
@SwiftOnSecurity The U.S. needs to change the CAFE rules and auto import tariffs to kill the market for these things.
@SwiftOnSecurity what in the name of fuck is the use case for that truck
@rstevens @SwiftOnSecurity you mean aside from the obvious one of "vehicular manslaughter"?
@glyph @SwiftOnSecurity that doesn't narrow it down much from all the other trucks
@rstevens @SwiftOnSecurity which does rather illustrate tay's point, which is to say: now it's a normal truck

@rstevens the thing is, this truck’s hood isn’t much higher off the ground than recent F-150s

There’s nothing special about it, it’s just a truck.

@rstevens @SwiftOnSecurity In general, Ford sells F-650s as straight frame "medium duty" commercial work trucks designed to be upfit with anything from flatbeds (for towing other vehicles) to dump boxes (construction) to emergency use (like ambulances).

You certainly *can* put a regular pickup truck bed on it like that guy, but it's a bit like using a Lamborghini to tow your boat.

You've definitely lost the thread if you're doing that with it.

@flargh probably cheaper to buy a surplus tank
@rstevens @flargh
And safer sight lines, likely
@rstevens @SwiftOnSecurity
Compensation for emotional issues based on insecurity of self image.
@SwiftOnSecurity $150k for a truck also used to be a quirk.

@SwiftOnSecurity I used to think super trucks were cool until this guy down the road built a straight up monster truck.

At least that guy built a monster truck for crazy off-road adventures, the super truck is built for looks.

@SwiftOnSecurity "I have deep insecurities about.. you know."

@SwiftOnSecurity

There is a lie in the graphic. They did not exist in 2016.

There are many people that have lots of money but they do not know what to do with it.

"Honey, I think I want to get this"

"Why? You have one already."

"Yeah, but it is a year old"

@SwiftOnSecurity These are also the people who whine the loudest when gas prices increase a nickle.
@SwiftOnSecurity I prefer the European version
@sqncs @SwiftOnSecurity Most of the Unimog’s I see in the UK tend to be owned by people/orgs who actually heed them to get to offroad places — utility companies, tree surgeons etc
@SwiftOnSecurity
Jesus, wasn't "ultimate" supposed to mean "last"?
@SwiftOnSecurity it's absurd. How did we let this happen
