I really need to rethink my participating in #DungeonAndDragons sessions, along with other #TTRPGs! It never really appealed to me before. ๐Ÿค”

I might have to start watching more of @nicole #TTRPG content! ๐Ÿ™‚

How a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy game provoked real-life change - Second Step

Recovery Coach Alex explains how role-playing in a fantasy game provided the safe space for a newfound reality and gave one of his clients, Kaine, a new lease

Second Step

@torspedia Playing TTRPGs, including my weekly games with @apolaine and @leah in the last few years, has utterly changed my life.

I've formed deep friendships with people I hope will be in my life forever. This depth, amidst a sea of online shallowness, has been a lifeline for me. Gaming can also be therapeutic. Funny what you learn about yourself when you THINK you're creating a fictional character.

Shout out to @apontious @SlRvb and @therealfakemoot whom I've played with more recently too! โค๏ธ

@nicole @torspedia @apolaine @leah @apontious @SlRvb I'm lucky to have had some game time with all of you (as applicable), I'm looking forward to the next session

That is good to know, ta. ๐Ÿ™‚

Any advice for a newbie?

@torspedia @nicole @apolaine @leah @apontious @SlRvb
Embrace failure
Stay hydrated
Communicate
@torspedia @nicole @apolaine @apontious @SlRvb @therealfakemoot Be open to playing with many new people to find the ones you click with. Be kind to the ones you do, and to the ones you donโ€™t. Communicate. Appreciate. And most importantly, have fun. Itโ€™s in letting go and having fun, Iโ€™ve met some wonderful folks who enjoy exploring and getting up to shenanigans as much as I do.
