(she/her) I'm a Developer Advocate by day and YouTuber by night. I like to talk about observability, software testing, learning in public, and taking notes, particularly in Obsidian.

I'm a Filipino-Australian-Dutch cis pansexual polyamorous agnostic polyglot. If any of that makes you uncomfortable, you probably shouldn't follow me...

Talk to me in: TL EN NL ES EO DE FR IT PT SV. I might not respond fluently after the first five, but I'll respond!

I own and manage pkm.social.

Apparently you can also hardcode queries (written in YAML) for the new @obsidian Bases feature in case you were missing it from Dataview like I was! Cool.

Playing around with @obsidian Bases, which is a native Dataview-like table view. Embeddable too, and much more performant. Miss the query language, but maybe that's just me.

Just finished watching the GrafanaCON 2025 keynote livestream from Seattle along with everyone else who couldn't go. 😅 @grafana

I quickly recorded this short summarising it in 1 minute: https://youtube.com/shorts/JeRPAvWtknM

Before you continue to YouTube

Sometimes I learn how to do something quickly for work and don't have time to turn what I've learned into “proper" notes. Enter the humble devlog.

A devlog is the minimum note I'll keep while I'm doing something technical, and it's usually just a section in my daily note. It's a running log of everything I've tried, including snippets of code/terminal commands. Here's me trying to consolidate devlogs from when I learned how to deploy Loki on k8s in GCP via Helm.

My talk at #kubeconeu25 was just released! It's called "Asimov's Zeroth Law of Robotics: Observability for AI”. I use OpenTelemetry, OpenLIT, OpenAI, @grafana , Prometheus, Tempo, Loki, and k6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6EKTCAWtn8

I was super nervous about this one because when I sent the abstract in for the talk, I had never created an AI app, much less instrumented it. So this talk is more like the story of how I learned how to do all that than an expert's guide to doing it right.

I really appreciate this. Yes to learning more in public! You can't get good unless you get started.

Almost a year ago, Nicole (@nicole) shared a video called Learning in Public with PKM. I really liked her idea: learning out loud, sharing what you learn as you go. Since then, I’ve been getting ready to show up publicly too. I learned how to edit videos, studied SEO, practiced talking to the camera. In April, I started posting videos. My only rule? I had to think they were actually useful. Big thanks to Nicole. You inspired me to start creating in public. https://youtu.be/i-uNtkre1aE

Here you go, @heleenkuiper ! 😅
I did something brave yesterday and gave a really personal talk at #pkmsummit2025. It felt liberating to be very open with so many people. Still flying high from the support! Cool to introduce my anchor partner Noel to this welcoming community, too!
