It was a bit less flirty than TSL games I've seen played or heard about, but I think that makes sense given none of us knew each other, and I think both my players were pretty new to playing these kinds of games? Certainly the one was. But! Some flirting/enticing did happen!

And there were interactions between PCs, as well as PCs and NPCs, and I did soooo much improv. I ended up not writing up super detailed notes on how to play each character and decided to just try it out.

We were a bit rushed for time in the latter half of the game but it was okay! I made some GM calls, and there were some fun rolls that were just barely tipped one higher or lower via the string mechanic in order to achieve certain goals or give an NPC an opening.

The TSL book is so well written, I really enjoyed getting to read it and run a game from it. I highly recommend it.

We didn't have one of the players we were going to have but that was okay too. :3

It is always fun to have @[email protected] run a game for you. Terraforming Mars Rpg was fun, intresting and a bit stressful. #Dagdacon #spéirgorm #TTRPGs

I love a good ttrpg, but hands down my favorite ttrpg is Mothership. I’ve been playing it since 0e and what I love most about it is how truly community driven it is. Like truly one of the most creative communities on the internet. And it’s cheap to pick up compared to DnD. 5 dollars gets you a 1 shot pamphlet.

It’s lethal.
It’s horrifying and gnarly.
It’s fun as shit to play.

[Fanzine Focus XL] The Beholder Issue 5

On the tail of the Old School Renaissance has come another movement—the rise of the fanzine. Although the fanzine—a nonprofessional and nono...

If you can read this, you have a computer and access to the Internet. Everything you need to play any number of excellent #ttRPGs is already available to you at no additional cost.

All you need is a couple of friends willing to set aside some time every so often to get together in person or via teleconferencing, to play.

A DM/GM and two players playing two PCs each is a party of four.

Instead of doing this, you would rather spend hours each week watching other people play? I don't get it.

With #Hasbro #WotC launching its own #DnD #ActualPlay show, "Dungeon Masters", I'm reminded again how incomprehensible it is to me that people would spend hours of their time watching other people play #ttRPGs, when they could have just as easily spent that time actually playing the game, themselves.

I have an interest in sailing and sailboats. I watch a few YouTubers open water sailing channels. I do not have the economic wherewithal to own a boat myself.

#RPGs are cheap—almost free—to play.

The interesting thing about #TTRPGs is reading up on a variety of things to get insight to something you are making.

A little bit ago I was reading up on Ares which is the diety for a couple of the PCs.

I was looking for what his holy symbol might be.

Interestingly he doesn't. I think in part because per the few posts I read he didn't "take sides" in a battle. He just likes wars and I guess the action in them.

So, no strong iconography like the others.

And they don't restore to full with a long rest, they regenerate at a slow rate.

So, even a 1st level caster might have 110 SP, and be able to cast 110 cantrips or 55 1st level spells in a row, before being completely exhausted of SP, and then requiring weeks to recharge to full SP.

This dramatically changes the calculus of magic in #ttRPGs. Suddenly, casters have to be a lot more cautious about what they cast.

You won't be casting high level spells very often, to say the least.
