1 - You post something that made you happy,
2 - A bunch of people tell you that you did something wrong, either in the way you did it or for even thinking you should have posted it,
3 - You decide to stick to Bluesky,
4 - A few years down the line Bluesky's lousy moderation becomes unbearable,
5 - Repeat.
Seriously, though, glad to see you here. I just joined Max Fun, and felt very glad to start paying you back for all the great entertainment.
To echo what someone else said, you should block all the people in item # 2. You gotta block here more than on other sites - it's all a bit more DIY.

@flophousepodcast Since you mention, here's a cool feature masto has that the hellsite doesn't: Filters!
Open settings & select Filters on the side. There you can set up a filter. You declare a set of keywords and, if a post matches any of those keywords, it doesn't show up in your feed.
(For configuring a filter I recommend checking "Home & lists", "Public timelines" & "Profiles", and selecting "Hide completely".)
I make use of filters to keep doomscrolly content out of my TL. Do recommend!

Local is what people you follow also follow.
Federated is what everyone on your instance (server) follows.
Favoriting (starring) sends a note to the poster, but no one else.
Boosting adds the post so your followers see it.
Always include alt text for images.
