The fact this isn’t front page news on every major news outlet in america tells you everything you need to know
@flexghost Right, right...but Hunter got a job!

@MasterMischief @flexghost

Read the article -- I wanted to post and tied it all together neatly but to be honest, the link being made by the Independent is pretty weak. The last thing I'd ever want to do is defend Dolt45, but I can't say the reporting here really makes the connection in a strong enough way to suggest the Trump org used the firm to pay Smirnov by way of Dubai.

@flexghost The MSM is trying to normalize the Orange shit stain Traitor POS megalomaniac narcissist Rapist for their $$$ benefit!
@otownKim The fact this is in addition to trump’s already nefarious ties to Russian intelligence… And the GOP for that matter: mind numbing

@otownKim @flexghost

Agree totally. It wasn’t long ago (I’m old enough), this would’ve been stop the presses bold front page issue costs tinpot djt the election and don’t come back from. America didn’t help by electing him, once; helps normal. But, MSM media biz wants big match to tout for clicks, not so much boldly highlighting unbelievable threats on national security, constitution and democracy, gets in way promotion. MSM boards bad boxing promoter.

@otownKim @flexghost

One print media (newspaper) I’m impressed with is Houston Chronicle, started following few years ago or so when TX experienced severe winter storm no energy peeps died, HC seemed to be alone in state objectively reporting situation. They’re national political coverage appears good, comprehensive.

@flexghost yep. But they will spend the next 24 hours smearing Willis.
@ArmyGirl Tbh I don’t think that’s a diversion tactic. I think they hate her for very obvious and surface level reasons
@flexghost pretty sure he’s behind the Fani Willis smear campaign too. Hope she REALLY sticks it to him now!
@flexghost For the way the GOP are being used by Putin and other Oligarchs too, Please be Inspired to work for DEM ballot box WINS ahead !

@flexghost

We are at a point where journalists are likely avoiding reporting on such issues because they don't want to be targeted with harassment and threats.

@flexghost

It's not surprising. But...Jack Smith must be exhausted.

@flexghost I am livid about this. Jesus why can't they #dosomething ?
@flexghost FWIW I'm sure MSNBC will talk about it. Man, Trump is lucky - I've seen half a dozen people who know about such things saying it's a miracle he didn't get long COVID - the Walter Reed folks did more than save his life.
@flexghost They want Trump back. In every way possible. Including covering up his wrongdoings and those of his flunkies. They did the same shit 50+ years ago with Nixon and Watergate.

@flexghost how this is not just as illegal and consequential as Watergate is beyond me.

(It is, and it should be)

@flexghost two words: corporate media.
@flexghost Do you have a link? I can't seem to find that article on the Independent's site.
Trump tied to firm that paid FBI’s Biden informant, says report

Alexander Smirnov has been charged with making false statements against Joe Biden and son, Hunter

The Independent
US firm that paid indicted FBI informant tied to Trump associates, records reveal

Alexander Smirnov was paid $600,000 in 2020 – the same year he allegedly began lying to FBI about Bidens’ role in Ukraine business

The Guardian
@aardvark @flexghost Yeah, the problem is the "have ties to" -- at that level of money, they all have ties to each other. Personally, I have an easy time believing the connection here, but I'm already on that side of the argument. In terms of facts, the fact that the connection between Dubai and Trump can be less shady is still pretty likely.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost the FBI has forensic accountants
@aardvark @flexghost no no, the accounting part I'm fine with. If you follow the chart at the bottom you get to the more tenuous final link. I don't think you can convince anyone who doesn't already agree with it, without more evidence that the ties are related there.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost forensics accounts do a lot more than google and draw relationship graphs

@aardvark @flexghost oh for f's sake it's not about the forensic accounting. Trump is known to do business as a developer with Arjomand and Kahn. A forensic accountant isn't needed for that. Sajwani is another billionaire that Trump knows. That's as far as the ties the article makes go. They know each other.

I think it's certainly possible that there's a lot more going on there but nothing in the article ties it together.

@FirefighterGeek @flexghost and why I want deeper analysis. If, for example, the “rejected” $2B manifested after leaving office, did he accept a bribe with a delayed payout?
@aardvark @flexghost Personally, I think it was a payoff for intelligence he passed along -- but so far I've seen nothing indicating anyone has any kind of proof of that.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost no proof yet entirely plausible. It’s a shame it’s so easy to believe in the possibility.

@aardvark @flexghost

There is very little I wouldn't believe readily about that individual as long as its self serving and doesn't require personal courage.

@flexghost

It’s really unbelievable…

Ok, yet another lawsuit? Anyone still counting?

Your local rag is going to bury it most likely, or maybe after a day or two, spin it.
