US firm that paid indicted FBI informant tied to Trump associates, records reveal

Alexander Smirnov was paid $600,000 in 2020 – the same year he allegedly began lying to FBI about Bidens’ role in Ukraine business

@aardvark @flexghost Yeah, the problem is the "have ties to" -- at that level of money, they all have ties to each other. Personally, I have an easy time believing the connection here, but I'm already on that side of the argument. In terms of facts, the fact that the connection between Dubai and Trump can be less shady is still pretty likely.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost the FBI has forensic accountants
@aardvark @flexghost no no, the accounting part I'm fine with. If you follow the chart at the bottom you get to the more tenuous final link. I don't think you can convince anyone who doesn't already agree with it, without more evidence that the ties are related there.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost forensics accounts do a lot more than google and draw relationship graphs

@aardvark @flexghost oh for f's sake it's not about the forensic accounting. Trump is known to do business as a developer with Arjomand and Kahn. A forensic accountant isn't needed for that. Sajwani is another billionaire that Trump knows. That's as far as the ties the article makes go. They know each other.

I think it's certainly possible that there's a lot more going on there but nothing in the article ties it together.

@FirefighterGeek @flexghost and why I want deeper analysis. If, for example, the “rejected” $2B manifested after leaving office, did he accept a bribe with a delayed payout?
@aardvark @flexghost Personally, I think it was a payoff for intelligence he passed along -- but so far I've seen nothing indicating anyone has any kind of proof of that.
@FirefighterGeek @flexghost no proof yet entirely plausible. It’s a shame it’s so easy to believe in the possibility.

@aardvark @flexghost

There is very little I wouldn't believe readily about that individual as long as its self serving and doesn't require personal courage.
