@LibrarianRA Why would you ruin perfectly good Spam and Mac & Cheese with peas????
@jimbush @LibrarianRA Exactly β€” apart from the peas that sounds fine.
@michaelgemar @jimbush Probably under the auspices of getting kids to eat their veggies.

Why ruin perfectly good mac & cheese with green peas & the flavor of fried armpits?
@LibrarianRA Ask for more? I'm actively asking for less.

@LibrarianRA

Now, if you suspended it in a Jello mold, maybe with some olives, you'd be at peak '70s.

It truly was a time of culinary lawlessness .

@LibrarianRA does the even distrubution indicate the more egalitarian spirit of the time, or an obsessive compulsive need to achieve symmetry?
@LibrarianRA I'm all about the Mac and cheese with veggies (even peas) but spam? Really? Even when I ate meat I wouldn't touch that stuff with someone else's fork. Great vintage ad though!
@LibrarianRA I would have eaten this as a kid. We seldom had Spam, so it was kind of a treat. Replace the peas with broccoli florets and that’s a thoroughly edible mid-century casserole.
