GOP Party Chair Ronna McDaniel said the party would support Donald Trump as their presidential nominee, even if a jury convicted of a crime, if their voters chose him.
Do you hear how crazy that sounds? Their party has lost all moral bearing years ago.
Political parties aren't mentioned in the Constitution, once they start rallying behind criminals they're just gangs in the organized crime sense.
A political party often has some morally vacant people within it. Today's Republican party is unique in two aspects, in regards to this:
1) That so many of those morally vacant people have ascended to the leadership of the Republicans, and
2) that those being led have not left the party.
It's not hard to oppose such a party. As a matter of fact, it is more of a duty AND a privilege.

@georgetakei let me just say something is deeply wrong with US just in general, if there’s nothing to actually prevent him from running after everything he’s done.
Like, if it’s entirely up to the party to decide wether put him up after, you know, orchestrating a coup attempt, then maybe y’all deserve him.

@georgetakei While it's certainly perverse, I'd call it a strategy rather than craziness. Trump characterises himself as a hero under attack from evil players, who include everyone in government and the justice system. A persecuted hero is still a hero. The appearance of martyrdom and hope that he'll one day prevail is what excites his big following.

McDaniel is telling the billionaires to not support other GOP candidates and to not bother the RNC with suggestions that they support other candidates.
Edit to add: McDaniel is also telling Trump that she's loyal, and telling the far-far-right folks there's no need for any outsiders - just keep voting for those corporate big-money GOP candidates.

He was already convicted of rape and also he was already found guilty of fraud. The current proceedings in NYC are not to determine guilt, but rather how much he is going to be fined.
Part of their moral collapse was hiring Ms. McDaniel.
