@georgetakei More information straight from the representative's a**: https://zinke.house.gov/media/press-releases/zinke-introduces-bill-expel-palestinians-united-states
These people are evil. And also very stupid.
Hamas terrorists are not going to be dumb enough to waltz in with Palestinian passports.
Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke introduced H.R. 6211 the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism (SAFE) Act to prevent Palestinian terrorists from abusing the United States’ legal immigration system by requiring the Department of Homeland Security to implement a pause on all visas, refugee status and granting of asylum for individuals holding a passport issued by the Palestinian Authority (PA). It also revokes any entrance of covered aliens who were granted visas or entered the United States on or after October 1, 2023.
@gavinisdie They're aiming for a majority-DOS attack.
What is "legal" changes, in their estimate, if they control the executive, the legislature, and the courts. It's "will-to-power" trash.
@LeaBug @georgetakei It's high time that the US used our various out-of-the-way locations for political exiles.
Trump and his co-conspirators should be exiled to Midway Island.
Drop off food supplies weekly, and keep a medic on scene in case someone breaks a leg or gets bitten by a shark. No guards. A single solar powered Iridium phone for communication.
And the ones who are complicit and serving in our government.
@georgetakei thosr christofacists can't stop trying to redo a Muslim Ban...
Wait until they find out that not all Palestinians are Citizens of Palestine and that not all Palestinians are Muslims, because racists who want a white Ethnostate cam't comprehend the very concept of a pluralistic society, I guess...
Also Evangelicals are evil!

@ahltorp @georgetakei OFC they don't.
They are a cult that literaly believes a Zionist Ethnostate would fulfill their prophecy, or whatever.
We started watching "All the Light We Can Not See" tonight. If you need a glimpse of what our country will look like under the sociopath Trump and his fascist followers in the gop, I recommend watching it (Netflix) and seeing what courageous resistance looks like.
"It's odd the way that societies change. Time and time again historians and sociologists are taken aback in wonder and confusion at the sudden, dramatic, and often dangerous transformations of a people’s basic nature and identity. When this occurs in individuals we call it insanity, and often look for psychological or biological illness to explain the anomaly. When it occurs in societies we call it inhumanity, and have yet to address its root cause.
There are of course the classic and well known transformations of good societies into those which embrace darkness, such as the Germans adopting the ideals of the madman Hitler, or the Italians adopting his lesser counterpart Mussolini. But there are unfortunately many lesser discussed and equally tragic examples of a societies transgressions against its own mores. From the ancient Greeks and Romans, to the modern day Bosnians and Sudanese, societies have shown a great propensity for suddenly abandoning their most cherished beliefs and morals, and in their stead, learning to kill.
To be sure, these transformations do not occur overnight, but are instead attended by a slow, steady, but ever increasing drumbeat of misinformation, dehumanization, beratement, and ultimate hysteria directed towards any perceived enemy. The voices of reason and dissent are routinely suppressed and discredited, the rule of law abandoned, and any possible sense of guilt muted by vague and overt appeals to absolute nationalism.
And so we find America today.
In the midst of an election where the abandonment of our most basic precepts of humanity have nationally and internationally been condemned and repudiated, we dare not mention them. For all our candidates have repeatedly and enthusiastically voted for their abolition.
Learning to kill.
It's not as difficult as we thought."

Well said fellow citizen RickJ.

Repugnicons to the max. This is not a Grand Old Party, it's an association of fascist murderers.
@georgetakei
Its name is the "Safeguarding Americans from Extremism (SAFE) Act."
It doesn't seem to be up on Congress.gov yet. Once it is, pay attention to who sponsors and cosponsors it. Sites like Ballotpedia can help you find their opponents. Sites like Open Secrets can help you find their donors.
This warning, taken literally, just the headline, not the country referred to in the actual article, would seem to be very appropriate:

“Ask not who the shithole countries are. Ask why your country is a shithole country.”
“I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.” - Edward Luce, Financial Times
“I agree. And I was the CIA Director.” - General Michael Hayden
Quite the shithole country these Republican shitbags have birthed.
@RodneyPetersonTalent @georgetakei
The CIA, naturally, does not count itself in this assessment.
@RodneyPetersonTalent @georgetakei
Very worrying...
@RodneyPetersonTalent @georgetakei
> General Michael Hayden
I detest Trump beyond my ability to express, but Hayden spent over 40 years organizing the most terrible crimes as the head of the CIA. It would be better not to give such monsters a platform.
I'm looking for info about this bill.
"The legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to halt granting visas, asylum and refuge for people who have a Palestinian Authority-issued passport. The bill would revoke the entrance or visa for individuals who came to the U.S. after Oct. 1."
Is there another bill?
Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-Mont.) introduced a bill Thursday that could ban Palestinians from entering the U.S. and possibly expel those who are already here. Zinke, who served as secretary of the Interior Department under former President Trump, introduced legislation called the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism Act. The legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security…
If George cared about internment he would end the gross hypocrisy. The opposite supports it. Anyone & especially known people who simplify present war into partisanship is just another warmongering pawn. #TheBigLie
@georgetakei
I wonder.
When people demand "Make America Great Again" is that the same "again" as those who say "Never Again"
Stupidity never ends it seems, not fit to lead the country…
@georgetakei George. can I tell you that I NEVER learned about the Japanese internment in school. NEVER.
@jentrification @georgetakei If I did learn about the internment of Japanese Americans (and Canadians) at some point in school, it was likely as a one-sentence fact, not the cautionary tale it could have been 🙁
