This takes into account the unit's Job, passive boosts, and can be used to optimize into 4 different categories: Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magick Attack, Magick Defense.
I sort of ran out of weapons for this gif, but it's in real-time so it's a very fast method to equip your units!
