"We will ascertain the details and provide the public with the truth," says IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari in response to media queries about whether Israel is responsible for the airstrike on a hospital in Gaza in which hundreds of people have reportedly been killed.
"An enemy rocket barrage fired towards Israel, passed in the vicinity of the hospital in Gaza when it was hit," according to the IDF in a statement, citing intelligence "from a number of sources we have" that Palestinian Islamic Jihad is responsible for the misfire that hit the hospital.
"An analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit. Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza." His very fist post in this thread reported that Hamas claimed Israel was responsible. The one you're angry about reports that Israel says it's Islamic Jihad's fault. me_valentijnWeird statement from Israel. They keep implying a connection between a Hamas rocket and the hospital being hit, but never say it outright.
The other interpretation is that Israel "defensively" and/or accidentally blew up the hospital and hundreds of civilians because a rocket was launched near it.
If Hamas blew up the hospital, I'd expect Israel to say that explicitly. They never do. Just that it was Hamas' fault (for making Israel do it?)
