AP: Hamas-run Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip says at least 500 people have been killed in an explosion that it says was caused by an Israeli airstrike.
An Israeli strike on a hospital in #Gaza is "horrific and absolutely unacceptable," #Canada Prime Minister Trudeau tells reporters. "It's not acceptable to hit a hospital."
Harsh condemnation of the attack on a hospital in Gaza also being issued by Iran, Jordan and Turkey. There is no on-the-record reaction yet from officials in Israel to Hamas officials saying the explosion was caused by a direct hit from an Israeli airstrike.
AP, citing Palestinian officials, says President Abbas has canceled his planned meeting in Jordan with President Biden.
DoD has no confirmation Israel responsible for attack on hospital in Gaza, but Defense Secretary Austin has repeatedly authorized to his Israeli counterpart the need to follow international law in warfare.
"We don't put any preconditions on Israel using our security assistance" but the US expects all allies and partners to uphold the rule of law, adds Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh.
"We feel democracies like Israel and us should follow the law of war and will follow the war," replies Singh under additional questioning by reporters. "I don't know who is responsible" for the bombing of the hospital in Gaza.
World Health Organization "strongly condemns the attack on Al Ahli Arab Hospital in the north of the Gaza Strip."
"We will ascertain the details and provide the public with the truth," says IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari in response to media queries about whether Israel is responsible for the airstrike on a hospital in Gaza in which hundreds of people have reportedly been killed.
"An enemy rocket barrage fired towards Israel, passed in the vicinity of the hospital in Gaza when it was hit," according to the IDF in a statement, citing intelligence "from a number of sources we have" that Palestinian Islamic Jihad is responsible for the misfire that hit the hospital.
"An analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit. Intelligence from multiple sources we have in our hands indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch which hit the hospital in Gaza." Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on social media.
@w7voa Am I the only one here who thinks the inclusion of "we have in our hands" makes this look like a giant whopping lie?

@w7voa

And exactly what else would you expect the IDF to say?

Credulous, much?

Wow…

@FinchHaven It's part of @w7voa 's job to report both sides' claims on this before he has solid evidence on how it happened. His very fist post in this thread reported that Hamas claimed Israel was responsible. The one you're angry about reports that Israel says it's Islamic Jihad's fault. He didn't say he thought either claim was accurate.
@w7voa I think I’m gonna need outside confirmation.
@w7voa And Bibi would never lie to us
@w7voa bibi loves slaughtering children!!
@w7voa Indicates. Clever language. I trust the leader is not cleverly lying.

@w7voa Wow, less than an hour between "we will investigate" and "we definitely didn't do it."

The IDF is amazing !

@w7voa

I don't believe either side. I'll just wait for bellingcat

@w7voa I wouldn't hold my breath.
@w7voa real headscratcher about who’s responsible 🙄
@gretared @w7voa As Israel targeted first responders in a previous strike I believe it was Israeli bombing that hit the hospital. Israel’s propaganda machine would blame Hamas. It suits their agenda.
@CarolynStirling and looks like they did just that. 🤬

@w7voa

""I don't know who is responsible" for the bombing of the hospital in Gaza."

Certainly it was a Hamas false-flag opp, using their US F16s paid for by US taxpayers

@w7voa really tired of aiding and abetting this vicious murder of civilians by an apartheid state.
the absolute depravity - to just shrug this off like NBD GUYS, this is israel and they can literally do WTF they want... is beyond sickening
