I have to put some fake gauges and dials on a thing (kinda submarine-ish thing). They’ll do nothing and I need ideas for dumb stuff for them to be gauging. Probably making a 1.21 jigawatts.

Give me more dumb ideas pls. I’m tired.

@tamonten a measure of probability, related to the infinite improbability propeller pushing the subthing along

Beard-second
The beard-second is a unit of length inspired by the light-year, but applicable to extremely short distances such as those in integrated circuits. It is the length an average beard grows in one second. Kemp Bennett Kolb defines the distance as exactly 100 angstroms (10 nanometres),[10] as does Nordling and Österman's Physics Handbook.[11] Google Calculator uses 5 nm.[12]

@tamonten fake box identification plates are always good, like a little nameplate with a fake part number or something?
@tamonten sorry, just realised you specifically wanted labels for the gauges 🤦‍♂️
@callum_snowden Still valid. I lasered a name play earlier, but I might a little something else.

@callum_snowden add*

FFS. Autocorrect is doing me dirty today.

@tamonten number of dials.

@tom ooh. Meta. I like. Only problem is I won’t know how many dials there’s going to be until I stick them on.

I suppose I could draw the reading on after.

@tamonten “number of dials we expected” AND “number of dials actually”
@tom I had thought having it read one more than we’re on the main console and one on the side near the floor reading “people made look”
@tom ignore the splodge underneath that dried out fine.
@tamonten percentage of gauge below this needle
