FineWovenMacro
For contrast, here’s the Peak Design case. Thicker threads give it a more “woven” feel, as oppose to the felt like feel of FineWoven
@stephenrobles Looks nice but I’m concerned how it’s going to go if it gets wet. E.g. If it’s accidentally placed down on a wet surface. Will it stain? Also wondering about the long term hygiene/cleanliness of a cloth case. I’d have been happy with fake leather. Not so sure about this…
@jamonbull staining will likely happen, it seems. I think I’m sticking with silicone this year
@stephenrobles @caseyliss There’s no way these will last more than 6 months without that fabric coming apart.
@SebastianArcq @stephenrobles @caseyliss
You could say the same about their leather cases. My current one looks almost new after a year of use. But that’s only because I switch to a silicone case anytime I think it might get wet or dirty. So a 2-case solution is my happy medium.
@freediverx that’s my typical routine
@stephenrobles thank you! Why couldn’t any of the YouTube reviewers take a macro shot? They all just bring it up to the camera and it loses focus without showing the material properly.
@sdjmchattie it’s tough on video, but I tried here: https://youtu.be/56WNgmpCZ5A?si=prh9PtvBjUKqiBAx
iPhone 15 FineWoven and Silicone Cases!

@stephenrobles fair enough. Thanks for posting the macro shots here. Apple also aren’t really helping us to understand what’s on offer.
@stephenrobles Mmm. I like that texture.
@stephenrobles this is going to be grime central in weeks
@stephenrobles nice. The texture looks great. Like it. Can’t wait for mine to arrive. Plus the new iPhone of course 🤪
@stephenrobles this honestly looks kind of terrible
@sdw @stephenrobles My intuition says this will feel nice in the hand, but immediately start picking up stains that are impossible to remove
@BenRiceM @sdw stains are gonna be a real thing on this one.
@sdw it doesn’t feel great either 😕 I’m sticking with Apple’s silicone cases or maybe caseless this year. I share my initial reaction here: https://youtu.be/56WNgmpCZ5A?si=prh9PtvBjUKqiBAx

@stephenrobles sending my fine woven straight back. Very cheap feel. Back will mark in seconds and look poor. IMHO worst case I’ve seen from Apple in years.
@stephenrobles What is the thread count on that case?
@stephenrobles @caseyliss So it's like getting your iPhone upholstered?
@stephenrobles @caseyliss ok, I definitely don’t want to get peanut butter on that!
@lo_fye😳🤢
@stephenrobles I have little kids. Peanut butter gets on everything, whether I like it or not 😃😮
@stephenrobles I read “Fine Woven Marco” bc of @marcoarment 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣
@stephenrobles Man, they looks cheap. 😝
@stephenrobles @caseyliss I ordered the Evergreen because I thought Taupe would be too light. After your video, I ordered the Taupe. And these photos make it look even better.
@stephenrobles @caseyliss I will interested to see how these fine woven cases weather, particularly with respect to hand oils...
@stephenrobles @caseyliss
Has it been… metallicized? Or is that some hallucination of the your cameras machine learning?
@Chancerubbage that’s the camera doing weird stuff
@stephenrobles The contrast in the sides vs. the fabric looks much nicer than I was anticipating. Corner wear will probably not be quite as nice as leather patina, but not just raw through to plastic. Wish they would retro-release these for the 14 Pro Max.
@stephenrobles looks like a slightly nicer version of the material in the logi keyboard case for iPad Pro.
@jorgexls the logi material is nicer though
@stephenrobles Looks very nice new, but seems like it would be a dirt magnet before long? Would love to see what they're like after 3-6 months of regular use.
@pvanb I’m gonna give it a few weeks. Not crazy about the feel right now but will reserve judgment for when it has a phone inside
@stephenrobles Thanks for posting these. Think now FineWoven isn’t what I thought it was before seeing these.
@tomhartnett same, not my cup of tea I don't think
@stephenrobles AppleCare+ is my case. Been fine for years ;)
@stephenrobles aren’t they charging the same price for these as their leather cases?
@jmorris1974 Same price as the leather, $60
@stephenrobles darn. I don’t think the argument can be made that the material is as premium as leather for that price.
@stephenrobles @caseyliss I really like that color.
@mikestanley color is nice! Feel is so-so
@stephenrobles Oh, that is unfortunate. I've had good experiences with Apple Leather before, but this last green one I have for my 13 Pro is well under a year old and it looks terrible. You might think I keep it in a pocket full of keys or sharp objects, but it sits in the same pocket all my other cases have for years without issue.
@stephenrobles @caseyliss :/ someone said 90’s windbreaker and now that’s all I see.
@rjj honestly I’d spend $60 on a 90’s windbreaker before this
@stephenrobles @rjj It gives me ‘grandmothers furniture that you put the plastic wrap over so it doesn’t get dirty’ vibes
