This is my recipe for sautéed spinach.
@Moltz Much more pathos than the average LLM (lamenting, lampooning musing)
@Moltz that’s how Big Spinach gets you john – eat it all raw to thwart them
@Moltz regret adds that real bitter-sweet flavour.
@Moltz That’s *everyone’s* recipe for sautéed spinach. :(
@Moltz there’s an allegory in there somewhere.
@Moltz the last step in our household is something like “put it on some polenta because as a garnish it looks like a reasonable amount”
@Moltz The physics behind black holes was originally used to explain how spinach shrinks while being cooked.
@Moltz I always and exclusively buy fresh vegetables. Except spinach. The only reasonable way to get enough spinach in your shopping cart in a single trip is to buy the frozen blocks.
@ccunning Ohhh, yeah, I used to get those and forgot about them! Thanks for the reminder. I get spinach because it's one of the few vegetables all three of use will agree on.
@Moltz Funny, this is almost the same recipe I used for bok choy
@Moltz Easier - po a box of frozen spinach (with outer wrapping removed of course) into the microwave and zap it. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder. You may be able to serve 2? Long live the microwave …
@Shantis Yeah, I'd forgotten about frozen! I used to get that all the time.
@Moltz wise of you to add the pepper at the end
@Moltz I haven't fully tested this hypothesis, but I'm pretty sure no matter how much more fresh Spinach you add the final amount stays the same.
@RickiTarr Spinach is a universal constant.
@Moltz ... and garnish with sprigs of fresh parsley...
@Moltz Spinach gets me every time whenever I cook it too. I fill up the whole pan with spinach and cook it and when it's all done it covers less than half the pan and all the veggies and meat just hide it almost.
@Moltz There is a spinach corollary to Hofstadter’s famous Law: it always takes more spinach than you expect, even when you take into account the Spinach Corollary to Hofstadter’s Law (Applies to chard also. Spinacheage May vary etc) #hofstadter
@Moltz you forgot the step where you regret ever eating a salad because it was a negligible amount of greens anyways 💀

@Moltz I like a bit of nutmeg on my spinach.

And yes, you'll need a small pillow's size of raw spinach per person to end up with anything.

@Moltz

Me: <dumps wheelbarrow full of spinach into pan> “Surely this will be enough spinach for three people!”

Narrator's voice: “Alas, it was not enough spinach for three people.”
