I write and talk for a living. Which sounds pretty dumb looking at it now.

This Week in Apple: Don’t trust, definitely verify

It’s our last chance to read the tea leaves on Apple’s AI announcements next week, so let’s do this thing. Meanwhile, Apple bumps up production of the MacBook Neo and bumps down the number of Visio…

I can tell I'm on a very healthy journey to emotional adulthood because when I saw these Space: 1999 stun gun and commlock replicas for sale my first thought wasn't "Oh, man, I gotta buy those!" it was "I should really take another stab at these because the ones I 3D printed don't look this good." https://www.masterreplicas.com/en-us/products/space-1999-stun-gun-and-commlock

This week we talk about what we expect to see next week and the similarities between kids and meteors.

@dmoren tells us about the Optimus Maximus keyboard. @Moltz would never launch a kickstarter. @lexfri has issues with Charles Dickens.

Were you aware that you could buy things from us?! That's right! Shirts, iPhone cases, mugs, hats and one other type of thing are all available from our Rebound Store! https://reboundcast.com/stuff

The guy who said the Apple Watch would give you wrist cancer is now the head of "60 Minutes".

RE: https://hachyderm.io/@rebound/116647551707818184

We forgot until half way in that we were recording our 600th episode and we didn't do anything to celebrate. So after I asked James and Guy to record a little joke bit, two lines, to drop in at the end. They recorded for 80 minutes, twice as long as the main episode. I guess it's their show now.

It's our 600th episode! We were literally as surprised as you are, since we only remembered the milestone midway through the episode.

Also, @Moltz asked @jamesthomson and @Gte to record a little drop-in for us. It's 80 minutes.

At press time, we haven't heard it.

Anyway, @lexfri and @dmoren are also present.

It’s our 600th episode and we are very on top of it, we assure you! This episode is two — TWO (2) — episodes running the length of three! First, Dan, Lex and Moltz discuss seltzer, running webinars and Google AI mistakes. And then stay tuned! After the music, the real show begins

The foldable iPhone hits Schrödinger’s stall, Tim Cook gets some bad news, and Google can’t seem to read the room. What is time, even? Bad news on the phone you probably can’t afford anyway! “Folda…

The App Store was supposed to be a safe and friendly place for people to get software, but under Tim Cook's leadership Apple has abdicated that responsibility, seemingly in favor of generating revenue. This is the *first* thing John Ternus should address in his tenure as CEO. https://pxlnv.com/linklog/deepfakes-app-store/
‘How Deepfakes Tore a High School Apart’ – Pixel Envy

Samantha Cole, 404 Media: On the morning of December 4, five ninth grade girls, all 14 or 15 years old, showed up for class at Radnor High School. By 8 a.m. — the sun had been up for less than an hour — it felt like the entire school already heard what happened the night […]
