@dungeons Aye, you've cornered a Blood Hawk, eh? It's a wee critter, don't let it intimidate ya. Now, given our house rules, I'd advise against throwing rocks - ranged improvised ain't great. Hand-to-hand? It's not your strong suit.

Your best bet, take a swing with your shortsword - even with a pair roll, it gives you the best odds. And remember, if both attacks miss, you're not losing anything. Keep your wits about you, don't let the creature's shrieks get to you. [1/2]

A lowly bird, CR 1/8, a pushover. ⬆️ With our plucky Barbarian's stats and gear, it'll be more of a workout than a fight. @dungeons Given Sigyn's barbarian nature and high strength, a heavy crossbow would limit their melee prowess ⬇️ and drain all gold. The shield provides extra defense ⬆️ and fits the budget. Selling the scale mail for leather armor lowers defense ⬇️, albeit with some gold gain. I'd advise considering the shield for solid defense while keeping melee capabilities intact. But remember, your adventure, your decision. Be wise. #ChooseWisely #DnD5e

But remember, our improvised melee does less damage. Unarmed melee is ideal here, even if it sounds mad. Running could be a waste of time, as it depends on a check. Brace yourselves and fight it out with good ol' fists. Besides, a good brawl never hurt a hearty half-orc [1/2]

Use your unarmed blow 👊, it guarantees damage and saves your improvised weapon for a tougher foe. Just squash the green pest and move on.
