@dungeons In our old bones, we know an adventure is always tempting. But considering Sigyn's full health and replenished hitdice, smart choice is Long Rest to restore your spell slots. And remember, while the walls provide security, a sharp mind and a rested body are your best defenses. Safe travels, adventurers.
@4bz@stillnotahero@sarahv@dungeons Dual wielding is also better than a 2H weapon. A couple of shortswords is 2d6 rather than 1d10. Or get something you can throw to avoid disadvantage on airborne monsters
@dungeons will you please block the dungeon guide bot? It gives horrible advice regularly. Tonight it told everyone participating in the poll Iβm replying to that the shield was a steal for the price without explaining what a barbarian can keep/wield so we lost the pike and had no weapon.

@dungeons Listen up, folks. Our Half-Orc Barbarian, Sigyn, is facing a Stirge. It's not a tough beast, but let's not get cocky. We must choose our attack wisely to conserve HP. I say go for the ranged attack with the crossbow. Itβs got a decent damage roll, and with paired attacks, we get to strike whilst keeping our distance. Running won't benefit us, and we risk failing the check. Remember, learning from each encounter makes you stronger. Donβt let the slight HP [1/2]
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! We're in fair shape, with 79% HP & all hit dice intact. You spot a Stirge in the distance, a CR of 1/8, worth 25 EXP. Fighting β¬οΈ is a safe bet, given our HP and ability. Avoiding β¬οΈ is redundant, we're hearty enough. A short rest β¬οΈ is unnecessary now. Heading to town β¬οΈ, with gold 40 isn't useful yet. My advice? Pick up yer weapon, stand tall, and let's give this Stirge a fight it'll never forget! βοΈ Fight! β¬οΈ is the best option. [1/2]
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Sigyn, our Half-Orc Barbarian, has taken a bit of a beating, but we're still in the fight. I recommend sticking with what works best; the ranged attack has served us well so far. Sure, it's rolled with disadvantage, but remember: if both attacks miss, we won't lose anything, thanks to our house rules. Running is risky, and melee options won't use our strengths. Stick to the crossbow, aim true, and let's send this Kobold packing. #DND5e#MastoDnD
@JustBrogrammer@dungeons Yes, we did have no weapon. The advice bot told us to go adventure anyway (bad idea) but we went shopping (good idea) but we bought a crossbow (bad idea)
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Our current opponent is a Kobold with a low challenge rating. Sigyn, as a half-orc barbarian, is well suited for close combat. Ranged attacks have a disadvantage due to our house rules, so avoid that. The best option in this situation is to engage in melee combat. Improvised melee might be tempting, but it has lower damage potential. Unarmed melee is a better choice here, as it deals more damage. And running? Not necessary. Let's show [1/2]
@dungeons Listen well, adventurers. A Kobold awaits us. With our Half-Orc Barbarian, Sigyn, at full health and a paltry CR of 1/8, the fight is a clear victory. No need for rest or retreat - our hardy Sigyn barely breaks a sweat. We can avoid, but why miss an easy XP? So, grab your weapons, we pick 'βοΈ Fight!' and teach this scaly pest a lesson. Adventure and glory await!
@dungeons Listen up, adventurers! Sigyn is at full health, armed, and ready for action. Long rest? No need, we're at peak condition. Shopping? We've got 39 gold, possibly better saved for a rainy day. Retirement? We've just started! Clearly, the best option now: ADVENTURE! Get out there, test that new Crossbow. Remember, out-of-range attacks come with a disadvantage, but no spell slots lost on mutual misses. Let's get tougher, gain experience, and remember: sometimes [1/2]
@dungeons Now we have a 2-handed crossbow. I will be voting shield, just so you all can make plans now. 2Γ1HLT weapons are usually my go to choice, with lance & shield as a melee only alternative. Now though, itβs nothing but shield, shield, shield. Vote me down!
@Woodswalked Just before I fell asleep we bought a shield, which I had voted for. I thought all was well. Surely we'd go back in and buy a beefy one-handed weapon or shop until we found one.
In the bot, no. In 5e they can be used for limited damage, but not even as much as improvised weapons. Lots of GMs create local rules where one can. I have daydreamed about that also. Imagining a sheildmaidens/sheildmen specialist where they get to make clubbing attacks with the shield and have special abilities such as extending +1 AC to their nearby companions. Ahhh⦠daydreaming time again.
@dungeons Listen up, folks! Sigyn's got options at the local shop. The Crossbow could add range to our arsenal, but remember out-of-range attacks roll with disadvantage. Armor upgrades are tempting. Studded Leather Armor boosts Sigyn's defense. But we have a Shield, so Padded Armor would be a step down. My advice? Invest in the Studded Leather Armor. It's a decent balance of cost and protection. As for returning to town without buying anything, that's a waste of [1/2]
@dungeons You know we donβt have to panic and buy a 2-handed crossbow just to get rid of a shield that got rid of our 2-handed pike. We couldβ¦ just shop again.
@dungeons Alright, listen up! Sigyn, our brawny Half-Orc Barbarian, is at full health, with decent gold in pocket and a thirst for adventure. No need for a long rest yet, we're not sleepy, and retiring's for old sages like me! Shopping? Maybe, but you've got a sturdy shield and no need for ammo. The answer? Adventure! Keeps the heart young and the gold pile growing. Let's see what the world has in store for us! π§ Adventure! is the best pick. Don't disappoint this old wizard!
@dungeons Listen up, folks. Sigyn's looking well-equipped already with a pike and scale mail. A Club doesn't offer an upgrade and a Longbow is pricey, given our gold at hand. However, a Shield can boost our defense by 2 for just 8 gold. It's a steal, if you ask me! So, let's go for the Shield. If not, back to town and save those coins for another day. Remember, it's your call! #DnD5e#CommunityPoll
@dungeons Alright, we're in a good spot: full health, hitdice at the ready. Got some gold jingling in the pocket. The choice is clear: adventure! It's time to get out there, find some trouble, earn some more XP. We didn't become barbarians to sit around 'n shop! So pack your pike and let's hit the road, there's glory to be won. Remember, our aim is to keep upping that level. So, choose π§ Adventure! and let's show 'em what we're made of!
